SP - General Bannerlord's Gameplay Has Gone Backwards In Multiple Areas From Warband

I don't miss the sword sisters but the rest of the branch was okay.
Books don't fit this period.
All your other suggestions are very good. There could be many possibilities with civil wars.

Books don't fit this period.
Why wouldn't they fit? books have been around since antiquity and even earlier in clay tables and the like.

People who could read definitely read books in the 11th century, of course your average joe the peasant wouldn't be able to read or have the funds for a expensive hand-written copy of a book but that's exactly what was represented in warband with the book merchant selling a few expensive books, viking conquest even required a literacy check before you could read a book.

Yes, books have been a thing from at least the Tang Dynasty. I think it would suit perfectly. Perhaps we could even not know how to read at first and need to take lessons to learn, so we aren't able to just pick up books and speed through skill. It could work a bit like it does in Kingdom Come: Deliverance.

Viking Conquest mod for Warband (quite good, would recommend) makes you have to go to a monastery and pay in order to learn to read. Alternately, a simpler implementation would be needing a certain level of INT to read a certain "difficulty" of book, similarly to the strength requirement system for gear.

Oh yes, I forgot about Viking Conquest. That would be a great way to do it too, I agree, could even add the INT level requirement to it so it isn't too easy.

I agree with all except Reactive Handcrafted Companions (no pain in the ass thanks, I had to tweak this) and Sword Sisters (please no more amazons...).

All your suggestions are good. The game developers should listen to your suggestions.
They all sound good.

I'd like to see Sword Sisters added too. That would be a fun option.

I agree with the overall fact that you are seeking to rectify, the fact that Bannerlord feels like a bland sandbox compared to Warband. While I am not looking for this game to be Warband 2.0, many of your suggestions are what made Warband so memorable and fun. The devs do seem to be focused on overall balance and stability as well as gameplay features at the moment, understandable in my opinion. Warband also has 7 years of patches. It was released in 2010 and the last update according to a quick check on steam was in 2017.

All that being said Bannerlord has a lot of room that could use improvement in, the unfortunate aspect that some of the most memorable features tend to get either loved/hated, and pleasing the entire community results in something bland, which is what seems to be happening. I, for one, enjoyed the previous escort merchant caravan and extortion by deserters quests. Some of the new quests are definitely new and great, such as the spy among us.

Claimants/Civil Wars, Strategic command dialogue, In-depth Courtship.
These would be the biggest features from Warband that I would like to see get carried over and implemented.

I just want to note that this thread has been going on for exactly 7 months and BL is still miles behind WB in basic SP functionality - exactly one of the suggestions in the post has been implemented (prison breaks) as well as one of the suggestions in the thread (control of your child's education).

Kind of depressing in retrospect.

This game is so bad it makes me want to play Fifa
At a certain point where my rage is exhausted after sufficient ranting in this forum, I'll go back to Starsector and Ostranauts.

Those games are also barely-functional after long development times, but the fact that the devs will actually listen to feedback and make changes in response makes a world of difference.

This is all I want from the beggining. I remember that people complaining too much because bannerlord is too much like warband before. But now, people just want a bannerlord that feel's like warband. I really really want to see these features in BL. Let's make this thread blow up so devs maybe actually care about this. And I wanna make that tag to myself. How do we add that ~~~~~~~~~ Good features that were in Warband, but are still missing in Bannerlord ~~~~~~~~~ to our profile ?
Edit: K I just did it
