Some of those helms come from different periods and would not have been seen at the same time.

The bronze Montefortino hemets were used during the middle to late Republic and died out in the first couple of decades of the empire, The Coolus type helmet was only used during the early empire. You also have 2 late Roman helmets which were used during the 3rd-5th century AD when the other types had disappeared. I think it comes down to when exactly this mod is set. At the moment looks like it is set 50 AD to 150 AD.

You got a good eye there,I have no idea what period this mod is based so I just went broad with the types.Yea ermm the late period helms I think were influenced by the Sassanids?More then likely you are right, imperial gallics, spathas and lorica segmentata's yep its based on the golden age of the empire.

Hey I downloaded the Beta and get an error saying "more than 32 samples per sound".  Any idea how i can resolve that so I can play?
thanks, jason

Or don't, Roma Invicta has become little more than a modder's resource.  Rome Total War and Gladiator mod both use material from Roma Invicta, and they've achieved more than I could in terms of gameplay.

Well then what about the Rome Total War mod. Markus said something about starting again in August, but his thread is locked.

Anyway, since the topic is here, I was looking at your BRF's and when I was looking at the spatha, why does the sides look so wierd? Like, the model is two completely different meshes, in one. Its strange.

Hmm...

We do need an official Rome mod

And you, are you going for realism or just for Rome; Total War becouse rome total war is the most unrealistic mods ive ever seen

i would love an realistic mod though, and the red is faaaar to bright

If Rome Total War is followed to the key then it would be too inaccurate. Such as having bright blue, plaid pants for every Briton, green for every Gaul, etc. that's just too fake. I've never been able to play this mod or the RTW mod, so I have no idea which direction either mod has gone in, though for the future I hope realism is taken seriously.

then start your own mod

btw : my is gone as i don't made my tests succesfully. so that means no time at all for any work

maybe some other rome mod will come, so i can play it when i have time in about 4-5 years

Still, do you intend to make further additions to the models? Other mods can continue improving on gameplay, but it'd be great to have one resource for Roman-era models of weapons and armor.
