Enemies of Rome: Chapter I; Vercingetorix will, hopefully, use some of his models. Not all of them, as the period is innapropriate for, for example, the Lorica Segmentata, certain shields and helmets, etc.

If Rome Total War is followed to the key then it would be too inaccurate. Such as having bright blue, plaid pants for every Briton, green for every Gaul, etc. that's just too fake. I've never been able to play this mod or the RTW mod, so I have no idea which direction either mod has gone in, though for the future I hope realism is taken seriously.

hoplites in 270? HAHA i laugh at you activision.

Hoplites in 270 is totally realistic. But I have to agree that they made some really odd stuff to RTW, kile flaming pigs, head hurlers and sreeching women...

I wish the Europa Barbarorum team could come together and make a mod for this game . That would be the sickest M&B, Ancient Europe mod EVER!

yeah they set pigs on fire becouse their squeals frightened elephants causing them to stampede back over their own men

Date and place of battle, along with the name of the historian who recorded it?

While that is what CA said on their unit card description, I cannot recall a battle where this was actually used.  This is in contrast to the screeching women, which I believe Tacitus mentions briefly.  However, he does not say that they were a corps of the army, which, again, CA would have you believe.

Rome Total War was never intended to have historical accuracy, you either used pigs or you didn't, it was a matter of strategy.  If you wanted to use pigs because they worked, then you did.  If you wanted to use Scorpions and Javelins instead, then you did, its as simple as that.  Same with the Wardogs, they were a disposible unit you had charge at the enemy to weaken them slightly before your army met the enemy.  In a way, Hannibal's use of elephants in the real world is no different.

If you were Caesar, and you said there would be wardogs and pigs used in the army, then it will be done.  There was never a unit you had to use in RTW, you could very well get Cavalry Auxillia (The skirmishers with javelins) and Heavly Cavalry as your whole army, and boom!  Rome is a horse nation!  That is what makes RTW good, the history in the campaign is what you make it.

just out of curiosity, how hard would it be to port this mod to .8xx?

Yes I know that it is only a modding resource, but is was seriusly one of my favorites.

I wouldn't think it would be to hard, 'cause theres not much real scripting (if any. only the weapon and troop stats, I think)

pretty please?

I don't think I have the original mod anymore to begin with and I'm pretty busy once New years eve is over with an HL2 mod which I am the sole modeller for.

I think Highlander an Voutare will not agree with this, but maybe Gladiator mod should be converted on a huge Roman Empire Mod. I think we all need this. M&B need this!

No. The reason I started the gladiator theme, was because I wanted something new, not the same old recruit, kill, upgrade. I wanted to add a new degree. Highlander would most likely agree with me, as he did nearly all the work, and doesnt want to scrap nearly all he has done.

However, I will let you use select models from Gladiator, as long as you PM me, and I accept. So, if you want to start something up, feel free to come our way.

or you could implement gladiator shcools and stuff of that nature into a roman empire mod. so you can choose which to do, or both. maybe even become emperor!

You guys went right over that comment didnt you.

gladiator mod, is being a low life slave, fighting in the arena, fighting, or rebeling.

That is all.
