The Bullet's an Idiot, the Bayonet's a Fine Chap

About us and History

The 4y Grenadiers is a Russian Grenadier regiment formed in the September of 2012. We continually work to be a regiment set a part from the generic "new" regiment. We train to be one of the fiercest fighting forces in this community. From smashing volleys to ripping the enemy apart in melee. Most of all though, we like to stress a strong sense of friendship, and while staying disciplined, be able to communicate and involve everyone in are activities. We strive to "get-to-know" our members through playing other games together as well as our regular Napoleonic Wars events.

Grenadiers were effectively the best unit in the Russian army, these men were known as the best Grenadiers of the time and even scale up to the French Imperial Guard. The Moscow Grenadier regiment was first in the Smolensk Inspection, before being assigned to the 8th division in 1810, at which point they wore the number 8 on their shoulders to show this. Then in 1811 the grenadiers were sort of broken off into their own divisions and the Moscow Grens were in the 2nd Grenadier Division, but they wore an "M" instead of a number; they all had letters. The 2nd Division is famously known for the following:

Hello to All:

I Have played Mount and Blade Napoleonic for about 3 months and really find it a wonderful game which I play just about everyday.  In the past few weeks I tried playing with 2 different regiments but had problems with both units.  The first unit was undisciplined and used repulsive language on TS.  The second regiment played at times that just did not suit my free time at home.

In both cases, the strategies in Line Battles were usually a "fire a few volleys and go into melee" without coordinating with any other units.  Needless to say, it was a quick death, which I considered a poor way to play a game. It was boring and as far as strategy and tactics a total waste of time.

I would like to join a Europeon regiment as the evening hours of Training and Line battles fit afternoon playing times for me as I live in the US.

I am looking for a regiment that has a nice mix of players of all different age groups,  I am an older gentleman so having a group of players who want to have fun but also are more interested in the strategic use of troops and winning Line Battles. Naturally this would to me make for more interesting discussions on TS both "in game" and in general chats.

I consider myself a reasonably good player based on time of have played the game - I have the usual weaknesses (primarily in melee) where I could use more training and practice.

My interest has always been in the strategic use of troops and the skills and use of weaponry by the individual soldier. That is why playing this game is so much fun.

Thank You for your time in reading this post. I hope my post will be of interest to some of the units that are looking for players.

"Adjust line"- The officer will say this when the line is crooked and it means simply straighten the line.

"Dress line to the left"- The person at the end of the line will move about 5 human spaces to the right and then everyone else will follow to allow for everyone in the line to get half a man spacing.

When the officer says line halt, the person on the far left will halt and everyone will catch up and form the line again.

"Advance by the right... advance"- The person on the right will advance, and then the person to the left of them will follow after 1 second or so, then the next person, and so on. When the officer says line halt, the person on the far right will halt and everyone will catch up and form the line again.

When the officer says line halt, the person in the center will halt and everyone will catch up and form the line again.

Specialised Commands

Shooting:

Drop Shot- The officer will say "Prepare drop shot, find your targets, 2... 1... Drop!"... what you will do then is as soon as he says drop you prsent your weapon, and when it gets perpendicular to the ground or the "resting position" as it is known, you will fire.

"Fire at will"- Fire at your own time, but as soon as you finish reloading, present your weapon and firing when it reaches the resting position. So when your weapon reaches the 3rd stage of reloading (when it is pointing to your left and you can move without halting the reload), hold left mouse button and when you present and reach the resting position, fire.

you should ask members of regiments to get the TRUE opinion about regiments.
