Hi I have an issue about the game, or maybe is just a feature that I don't understand. some of my skills are red and lowered, can you explain me why?
Old character?  After some number of game years, the player character can lose stats permanently if knocked unconscious.

The mod features injuries. If you get knocked out, you might loose some stats for some time. I'n not sure, but I think if you get the same injury again before the old one has healed, the stat loss might become permanent. (This could be from Bryttenwalda, though, and I just mixed it up.)
You can review your injuries somewhere in the 'action' menu.

k i'm asking here coz i can't get help for enywhere (ModB,their forums) i want to ask about 2 thing 1. i have an error with friendly flags are they psosible to fix ? and 2 is there any way of changeing THIS bad disguesting uruk hai model ? i hate this bump on their backs why did they do that ? didn't they watch movies ?

I wanted to know if it is normal that you can't retreat from a siege

Currently Isengard is destroying Rohan with sieges of 500 units or more, and having to fight those 500 in only one battle (HP, shield, arrows) seems pretty hard

So, not being able to retreat (even thought i press tab and the game ask me if i want) is normal or it isn't?

Bugs and suggestions:

Escort supply train quest is bugged (arrive at location but quest doesn't finish due to the caravan not entering the settlement)

Orc arrows disappear when shot at mirkwood spearman shield

Battle messages take too much time to appear due to the large amount of them that gets constantly throw at the screen

when fighting human bandits: get_object failed for mesh: tableau_mesh_woodsmen_tunic

sometimes uruk's (uruk newborns) glowing eyes appear from the back of their head when you get too close

Isengard/Dwarves don't use crossbows

Isengard's uruks don't use shields (large/fighting uruks)

When using cheat mode, it's impossible to exit Isengard since the option in the menu to leave is no longer there

Have to get close to be able to hit ents even with a pike (which has 224 lenght). Basically the weapon clips through the ent's skin but don't deal any damage.

How can i edit troops in this mod? Morgh's editor and MB Barracks Editor gives me a error when trying to open troops.txt .

Will the TLD 3.3.1 source code released at sometime? I know there is already the source for 3.22 but I prefer the less buggy and warband compatible module system of the latest version which also added some little things that are not in the 3.22 module. It would be very helpful to people like me to just add OSP codes like the brytenwalda stamina system to the module system and then compile with one click instead of using the the old module sytem and then trying to find the newly added bits of code in the text files of the mod directory and  paste them into the txt files of the 3.3.1 version and edit them to make them work with the newer TLD version.
I recently installed the brytenwalda stamina code into the TLD 3.22 module system, compiled, and it worked with the module that was created via 3.22 modue system, then copy-pasted everything that was added to the txt files into the 3.3.1 txt files and now I don't know what to change  to make it work with TLD version 3.3.1.

SuperCommando, you can get the most recently updated source here.

In other news, I've successfully (I think) implemented rubik's Troop Presentation

Still need to work on the images that appear, but I think I got it.

Thanks! I've fixed up the images (iterating correctly, albeit quite small. perhaps i can center it and make it larger?).

Y1dK_.jpg

This allows us to take a look at each troop easily (without going through text files or source code), and perhaps start talking about whether we can tweak certain troops for 'balance***'

***TLD is not meant to be 'balanced' in the literal sense of the word

-------------

Edit:

Fixed it by making the drawings bigger and moving it to the center-right side. Might need to change the background image for better clarity.

Hey Khamukkamu, do you have an updated version of your RCM port for the latest nightly patch, or is the one you uploaded before still compatible?

It is still compatible. RCM only modifies 3 files (item_kinds1, party_templates, and troops). None of which were modified since May 2014 (thanks to github + Swyter for the documentation)

Damn, didnt know that I did this 2 years ago! I thought it was just a few months ago... Wow, time flies..

Ok, I think I have completed the Troop Presentation project.

Those who are interested, grab it here: Google Drive Link

1. download the zip file
2. unzip all files into your /TLD/ folder. Overwrite when asked
3. Launch TLD, then go to Reports menu
-- You can click on each unit and see their stats and items.

Credit goes to Rubik.

(avoiding a double post)

I've started on a new project for TLD, where the player's icon changes depending on the number of troops they have (credits to Viking Conquest Team for the code).

TLD has 3 states for party icons, which depend on faction and race:
- Mounted, Archer, Footman character

For example (Gondor):
BU7MI.jpg
YZlRi.jpg

I've added 3 more states:
- Mounted hero w/ more than 40 troops, Archer hero w/ more than 40 troops, and footman hero w/ more than 40 troops.

Here's a proof of concept (Gondor):

6P4Ru.jpg
1vFWm.jpg

Not all factions may have these additional states as i'm limited with the current party icons available, unfortunately, as there are no longer any more modellers around for TLD (e.g archer orcs and uruks)

I'll see what I can do with what I have and release a sub-mod (unless it gets accepted for the main branch)

Is there a way for you to design new armors for Iron hills dwarves and erebor soldiers? and Ered Luin dwarves? Since the hobbit is out I can ask for models from the developer of Third Age total war on Dwarven Iron hills armor and Erebor Armor, Since its out I really hope you can at least find a way to improve the dwarves of Iron hills and dwarves of erebor..

Hi,

1) TLD is based mostly on the books, hence armours, weapons, etc were all inspired from Tolkien's descriptions. Not sure if the Hobbit movie took their armoury inspiration from the books or continued with the Peter Jackson vision (I assume it is the latter).

2) TLD no longer has an active modeller, as such, we won't be able to expect new weapon/armour design.

Thanks for your input though! I saw the Hobbit too and they do look awesome, however we abide with the intentions of the mod creators

Thanks for your continued work on improving mod! Including Swyter and the others still working on the mod

Yea, I love this mod and its potential  Been following it since 2011! I know others have followed it even before that. Now that the source is out, I've tried my best to help as much as I can. It's quite disheartening to see that nobody really expanded the mod when the source was released. It was just taken apart for models/items.

The war system is such a fantastic idea that it could be applied to any setting! It's a fun idea especially for people who just love the combat of M&B, the roleplay of being a general/soldier, less so the kingdom management part  (which is why I don't get the requests for Freelancer in TLD).

Anyways, enough rambling.. here's a status report:

I'm putting other TLD projects on hold in order to finish up the Spears of Bladorthin quest (too many people on Steam have gotten 'stuck' since it is an incomplete quest and don't read the FAQ mentioning that it is an incomplete quest).

I've successfully hooked up the dungeon scene with the warehouse scene and can now continue with the quest.

However, the quest requires a new scene in order to complete it.

The problem is that we already have this scene created but it was left unfinished.  I tried doing it myself, but I felt that fixing it up took too long (being a noob and all) and I could have done more with actually completing the coding part of the quest.

Here's some screenshots:
gKEiI.jpg
aXd7k.jpg

I believe all that is left to do is actually move the camp towards the center (screenshot 2) and make sure there are no floating stuff. But then again, I'm not a scener so I can't really tell what the vision was.

So I am hoping that maybe someone still following this mod could help out  If not, i'll probably just abandon this scene, duplicate a scene we already have, and just modify it slightly.. which will definitely not be aligned with the vision for this quest of the original team
