If anyone is screwed kiddo it isn't the Earth. Earth has seen things far worse than we could ever be, and life has always bounced back. It's a bit anthropocentric to believe the Earth needs us or is destroyed when we are destroyed. If we're gone it will just shrug and move on like it always has.

The only reason to care is for our own sake, the planet will be just fine.

I really think we're gonna nip this climate thing in the bud though, someday. We literally have the technology we just gotta make it ez. We're hardly doomed.

Yeah, renewable energy has gotten exponentially cheaper over the past decade or so and is only getting cheaper. We're at the stage now where even republican towns in the heart of oil-country are opting for renewable energy, simply because it makes more economic sense.
