Guys in my opinion projectile tracers are only some kind of option (btw i don't like it even in that way), beacause when Callum died and was spectacing someone else there was no more stupid tracers.
So you would not like to let someone else have a choice?
Perhaps I would like to play with tracers sometimes and sometimes not. As we have no information on this, TaleWorlds might be implementing it without any option and might be always turned on. What then?

I get your point but I'm worried that if it will be a option that can be turned on / off most players will end up with turning it on anyway, even when they don't like it. It's quite easy to judge that it makes shooting easier - mainly in making some corrections of your shooting. So when you will be playing (especially some ranking games/ clan battles etc.) even when you will not like it because it makes the game more arcadish with big losses in immersion you will be forced anyway to play with turned in on, not to give your opponents any advantage.

I'm hoping the arrow tracers/trails are just localized visuals that the source player can only see, and can toggle on and off the visual aid.

But by default I'd stick with no tracers for any of the ranged weapons.

This. I will edit this to my constructive criticism original post as well. Even though turning it off may sound like it will make those happy who dont like it, they may feel the need of turning them on just to make sure they dont have a disadvantage compared to other players.
So overall, there is totally no need for this to be in the game, I dont want Taleworlds to make it optional, I want them to get rid of it.

The dust appear when an arrow lands is already good feedback for the player to give him/her an idea where to aim. The tracer is not needed for this. Even zoomed cam when pressed shift is quite alright to see where the arrow is going in Warband.

I was talking about the visual feedback of the combat, not their skill nor judged them.

So what improvements would you want to see?

Animations should have weight, hitting someone should feel like hitting someone aswell. Walk/speed multiplier synchronization in animations. Characters look like they are bored, not fighting. Just my opinion.

Welp, it happened. First thanks for the gameplay video. Second, after playing mordhau, the animations look really stiff as hell here, sound design also feels muffled and distant.  Here's a clip of some gameplay a little while ago. I know the gfx are going to be a little nicer cause it's unreal, but just look more at the weapon animations, specifically the arms and windup plus release speeds. They just feel a lot more natural, but that also might be because you can't hold the attacks though.

I hate to say it also but I sort of like the non laser scoped arrows and the fact you can parry them without a shield. It looks like arrows are just as deadly as in warband and you are going to be forced back into being required to have a shield. As long as shield gameplay can feel as interesting as 2h though that might be alright.

Who am I kidding though Ill still take off work and play it, but the bar is starting to be set a bit higher for melee games.

Bois, I'll tell ya. I had a great many chuckles reading this entire thread thus far with my morning coffee. Typical, some healthy amounts of bantering, but the pages concerning Terco are fabulous. :fruity:

Also, congratulations to everyone who made it into the closed beta, I'm glad Terco made it because he if a very memorable character throughout these forums for positive reasons, unlike some others. AHEM.

In any case, video was cool, but I'm still waiting on Sieges Part II, don't hold out on me Callum!

Everyone watch this video after 3:36 and tell me something wasnt off in the beta gameplay video. The combat in this video looks dfinitely better. The inverse kinematics, the animations etc.

About Mordhau I dont know. I dont think it is that good to worth too much glorification. I mean you cant hold your attacks that is one thing and there is this feeling of the characters are action figures which makes the game look like an EA game. If you know what I mean. It reminded me of Star Wars the fps one when you get Darth Vader.

Though in duels I can see maintaining distance is important. Because when you move left or right it is way slower than moving forward. I think Bannerlord is problematic atm in term of this. Hence, it looks like characters are dancing around each other.
There is also desynch problem between walking animation and the distance they walk as the 578 pointed out. If Taleworlds handle these problems along with the ones mentioned in constructive criticism topic it will make Mordhau lobbies empty once it gets released. Because M&B multi has diversity and more freedom in my opinion.

In warband there were some servers that put some hard to climb towers, you had to jump from platform to platform to get on top and there always was a guy being an a-hole throwing either javs or shooting xbows. Or pistoling. It was tons of fun with a lot of paranoia. You didnt know if the guy next to you wants to peacefully climb along with you or go troll and kill you. If number two, the chat would go full of bad words for some time  Damn, I wish I wasnt banned from that server

Hi Callum!
Dear Developers! Thanks for the tree (13:47)!
It is beautiful

So does that mean the developers earned this badge?

Not yet, have not earned. But it looks like they are on their way to this badge!
They are great, I think they will succeed well

Seriously, how the hell did Terco get into the beta? I don't know how long he's been playing M&B, but he only joined the forum late last year.
Terko, a very respected person   This is quite enough.

Well, after it was suggested Terco take over as community director while Callum was sick, he flew out to Turkey and nursed Callum back to health so he wouldn't have to. Callum then felt that he was definitely part of the "friends and family", and gave him a beta key for saving his life.  :iamamoron:

Love how the thread derailed from devblog to how Old Terco got his closed beta key.

I wonder if Yaga got his too

More gore would be appreciated, yes. More blood, so long as it's toggleable like in previous games.

And lastly, I really loved the dust raising from hits to surfaces. People complained that it was a lot, and it is, but I like it! Though I know my opinions don't really matter all that much on this.
I join and support - more blood and more dust!
