Hi, i just started to play this mod. I understand it's under construction but i see few things after 5min of gaming:

1. In a cities i have two options about to speak with a guildmaster:
- Meet with the guildmaster.
- Talk to the guildmaster.

2. Map (great, huge europe but lots of mistakes)
- Thorn (polish city called Toruń, not teutonic) it's too far away to the east
- Sandomierz also too far to the east

And why you didn't include carpathian mountains? I see hills there ok, but hills are not a mountains. I mean Carpatian mountains starts just after the moravian gate south of the Kraków. I know they are not so high as Alps but still in the warfare terms they are a mountains.

I'll spend a night over this mod and hunt more things to fix. Sry for my english.

Hello !

i have just download the pre8 version and i have the 1.126 of M&B warband

i had the old version pre7 and it's worked fine... but now after the installation of the pre8 at the launch it says: "RGL error: unable to open texture file Modules\1257ad\Textures\font.dds"

it's the first time i have this error with your mod and i don't understand why... i have try to install on the pre7 and try to delete all the 1257ad files before installing but it's the same :/

and i downloaded 2 times to be sure it was not just the downloading who didn't worked fine...

if you can help me... :p i d'ont know if it's a bug or if it's just me ><

(sry for my english i'm french)

That's a native issue, there is some limit on how many NPCs that list will display.

And I am aware that some settlements in Poland are too far east, as far as the mountains go, for the scale of the map that's exactly how they compare to the Alps.  Or I might have flatten them thus destroying Schmidt975's work!

Gwiliryn: I'm afraid it is you

Mod is lagging a bit or maybe it's me only, i need to chceck it more times.

If you give me some numbers, i mean current x,y cities position on the map i can fix it. Without any data i can say: more to left, more to right

1. Map:
Lublin should be in Sandomierz place and Sandomierz more to the west.
There is a city of strassburg somewhere near Thorn also, not a place for it for sure.

While helping Merchant of Kraków in combat inside the city, one enemy is bugged, inside the walls. Once I managed to lure him out, but mostly 'load' option is necessary. Checked on two comps, more than 10 times.

Units unkeep is insane comparing to rewards from quests and gear of enemy parties. Ehehe, guy wanted me to escort caravan from central europe to africa, for 200 while i was paying for my PEASANTS 500 a week.

I'll check the mountain thingy more carefully.

Best bet would be to start with a nation. You receive a village that pays around 2300 per week. This will help you support an army but the upkeep is designed so you can't field and army of 50+ elite troops, it would be to expensive.

Not sure this one has already been reported but I oh well.
When you enter the arena (not a tornement) you can fight untill you die. When you die the tonement master is not there and you have to exit the arena and come back. You don't get you money eaither. Just to let you know!

I second this, I had the same problem (except I got paid after I came back).  You can just exit the arena and re-enter and get paid.  But yes, after the Arena (not tournament) match, the master is not present and you must exit/re-enter to get him to appear.  I only did regular arena once so far so I am not sure if it is everywhere.

ye, well, second level peasants, 2lvl cost 22/week. And why horses are dieing like a flies, is it also intended? I see heavy knights who's charges looks like they simply deliver themselves to the enemy and jumping on their heads, hehe. Decent horse costs 14000, but it won't survive a decent battle.

I got the CTD during battle (fair number of horses) both times I tried a battle in new version.

I played a 670ish vs 650ish battle in 1.126 Native and had no problems with crashes.

One of the bandits in the starting quest in london was inside the wall.  I get around this by going outside until the retreat option shows up and then it goes through a few confused steps before moving me to the merchant for the after part.  So its not unworkable.

When starting a battle the npc cavalry on both sides pick a point quite close to the opponents lines to form up and then they stand there being archer-fodder whilst their horses are shot out from under them.  Eventually the infantry/archers catch up but its often to late by then as the horses fall under a hail of archer/crossbow fire or someone like me picks off the hardest troops before the battle even starts.  Combat seems to be initiated when the first actual cavalry man dies.  You can kill their horses relatively safely without them reacting.  Would it be possible to make it so that the cavalry stay back and follow the infantry/archers instead and then form up at the flank or something like that? My side line up fine its just the ally and enemy troops that do this.

Just wanted to let you know that since I did the 1.126 update neither pre-7 nor pre-8 has crashed on saving and it crashed at least 1 in 3 times, maybe more, before that.  So it looks like that patch fixed whatever it was that was causing that issue.  I haven't been in a truly epic battle with pre-8 yet to double check this but I have tagged along with some 300 vs 100 type battles that would have been crash inducing before.

Playing as English during French war.  The patrols keep targetting people in france and then charging headlong out into the middle of enemy territory.  I found a british patrol neat frankfurt not long ago.  They also make it rather hard to finish some of the quests - the guild master troublesome bandits for example - as they swoop on the target bandits before I can possibly close on them!

I also have two town options to speak to the guildmaster - one is labelled Meet with the Guildmaster and the other is labelled Talk to the Guildmaster.  Both work.

The first splash screen looks really really washed out.  The second one (with the menu to the left of it) is still really glorious and colorful.

When you start as part of a faction everyone says that "You were granted a fief by <your name>"

I get the same error messages shown by Sidus Preclarum in the screen shot.

Love the new setup with the starting faction choice!  This update has been a huge improvement in general and I didn't really think it could get much better!

The game was going well, I took over London, but then the game crashed, now whenever I skip past the opening video of the game... it says...

'Generic application error. Enable
debug output for detailed information.

Switching to the reference rasterizer,
a software device that implements the entire,
Direct3D feature set, but runs very slowly.'

I click ok then this comes up.

'Warning: Nothing will be rendered.
The reference rendering device was selected, but your
computer only has a reduced-functionality reference device
Installed. Install the DirectX SDK to get the full
reference device.'

I click ok again and this comes up.

'Generic application error. Enable
debug output for detailed information.

This application will now exit.'

It had crashed a few times before, but now this messages comes up not allowing me to play.

Any answers?

[Minor] - Aesthetic

The weak little introduction texts:

"You came by caravan through the heartland of Europe.  Green shoots of wheat, barley and oats are beginning to push through the dark soil of the rolling hills, and on the lower slopes of the snow capped mountains herds of cattle and sheep are grazing on the spring grass.  Occasionally, too, you catch sight of one of the great warhorses that are the pride of the Swadian nobility.  The land here is rich -- but also (deeply?) troubled, as the occasional burnt-out farm bears witness.  You keep a wide berth of the forests, where desperate men have taken refuge, and it is (of?) some relief when you crest a ridge and catch sight of the great city of London, its rooftops made golden by the last rays of the setting sun."

-----------

Two problems with the above.

The first being a comma, which I've highlight in red.  Remove it.

The second is the mention of Swadia, which is in blue.  Wtf?

-----------

Finally two suggestions are shown in purple.

-----------

Offer:  I'd actually be willing to rewrite all of the silly vanilla introduction texts.  Especially the last one, when you arrive at the inn...  That one could easily of been better.

-Instance

i wouldn't say a land is deeply troubled if there's only an occasional burnt-out cottage.

also, "it is of some relief" sounds better.

-----------------------------

when helping a crusader patrol (myself being a vasall owning Homs), their party tells you in the battle aftermath that you should fear the mameluk empire and prepare to die. i left-click and i'm back on the campaign map. no real issue, only a little funny moment;

'Yay we won - but you will die eventually'
