@Callum the ruler crown models are fantastic to look at, but is there an ETA on when the faction rulers will start really wearing them in civilian scenes/battle scenes?
Also, will their heirs wear them if the faction ruler happens to die and be replaced?
 
UI
Changes
  • Party role assignment improvements:
    • All roles and members are now shown separately.
    • The automatic assignment of party leaders to open roles within their party is now reflected in the UI.
  • The stack amount is now shown while crafting javelins in the crafting screen.
  • Added world map notifications that trigger when the player loses a trait.
  • Added pregnant icons to the encyclopedia and the clan page.
  • Hovering over names in conversations now opens a tooltip that includes the character's relation score with the player.
  • Added available quest names to character tooltips.
  • Encyclopedia next and previous pages are now navigable with the 'Q' and 'E' keys.
  • The scoreboard can now be closed with the 'Enter' key when the mission is over.
  • Added an option to disable the target lock feature.
  • Changed the map selection on the custom battle screen to a dropdown menu.
Very nice QOL changes.
Battles and Sieges
  • Added troop selection to keep battles.
  • Fixed a bug that caused siege defenders to go to an incorrect defending position to meet the attacking ladders/towers in scenes with multiple offensive climbing spots.
  • AI units no longer stop using siege machines when they receive damage.
I'll be interested to see if this helps defenders odds.
Kingdoms and Diplomacy
  • Fixed a bug that caused extremely high tributes to be paid when making peace.
@SadShogun what was going on with the tributes? is there a maximum tribute now?
Settlement Actions (Town, Village, Castle and Hideout)
  • Tournament Changes:
    • Tournaments are now auto-simulated after 15 days without player interaction.
    • The tournament winner will receive an elite reward (a reward that costs 5000 denars) if there are 4 or more nobles in the tournament (player included). The value of the reward scales with the number of nobles that participate in the tournament. If there are less than 4 nobles in the tournament, the winner will receive a random regular reward which costs between 1600 and 5000 denars.
    • If the winner is the player character or a clan member who is in the main party, the tournament prize will appear in the player's inventory. Otherwise, the value of the prize in denars will be given to the winner's clan.
    • Non-hero troop distribution has been changed to around 40% Tier 3 troops, 40% Tier 4 troops and 20% Tier 5 troops in both tournaments and practice fights. If there aren’t enough troops to hold this condition in the garrison, the remaining slots are filled with random Tier 3-5 troops.
    • Updated the tournament game menu text.
Nice seems like tournaments will actually be worth doing after clan tier 1
Combat
  • Fixed a bug that was causing units in a shield wall formation to move their shields up and down constantly.
Sturgian shieldwalls rejoiced everywhere :party:
 
QoL changes are welcomed but calling any of these "a lot of work" seems like an exaggeration. Which particular "small" improvement do you think would take a lot of work?
Well it seems that your question is not really a question... Knowing what you think about TW and the game development status...
I consider the situation as a whole and really appreciate all the efforts done... We know they are working on core features and keep releasing patches (fixing, improving, tweaking and polishing) on regular basis.
Which is quite a good proof of commitment for releasing a finished product in the best time possible...
 
Good patch! Though the game won't launch now, after pressing "Play" on Steam. The launcher will open for 1 second and immediately shut down again on my end... Anyone got the same issue?

European servers not working! TDM Siege captain etc none of them work! Can someone take a look at this if it's not a hassle?

No, it's a formula correction for the distance modifier of the tributes. The formula intended to ignore negative values for a certain distance score however it did not causing it to explode in negative values. This is now fixed and if the distance score is correctly clamped.

European servers not working! TDM Siege captain etc none of them work! Can someone take a look at this if it's not a hassle?
 
Is the terrain system coming this year?
My curiosity too, and is the Order-of-battle system going to be used by the AI so they have multiple formations, instead of one big blob of every troop class? Will they also get a revamped AI to use those formations and be more intelligent on battle maps? Because after the battle starts and the initial formations clash, it devolves into the attacking AI throwing troops across the map in "charge" mode like warband.

You guys at Taleworlds also had an official post on the Terrain Battles system but not on the order of battle system, it was only briefly shown in future plans in comparison.
 
I figured out the reason why the launcher is crashing. We'll publish a fix first thing tomorrow. In the meantime, you can launch the game directly from Bannerlord.exe or delete any non-official modules in the modules folder. Sorry for the inconvenience.
 
Well, after the changes mentioned in this patch, it seems like cav are performing slightly better than before. There are significantly less whiffed attacks.

Druzhiniks have had the most improvement in their performance. Looks like they all couch in an initial charge, hit their targets and get a decent amount of kills.

The increased tendency to couch lances doesn't help Imperial Elite Cataphracts much when, to my knowledge, they use the Courser Lance, which can't couch (though this may also be intentional on TW's part due to historical inspiration, who knows). Elite Cataphracts still perform worse than they should, even against basic recruits, partially for this reason.

Banner Knights still seem to mostly stab, rather than couch, despite what TW said.

More is needed - for example, two-hander infantry should not be able to make pinpoint accurate overhead hits on a rider who is charging them at 40km/h, and cavalry charges need more impact - but it's a good start in making melee cavalry not a waste of a warhorse.

I am geniunely curious, why do you keep adding Battanian equipment as other cultures such as Vlandia, Aserai and Khuzait lack those even more? Especially shoulder armor pieces are very few, why dont you focus on making some of those instead of adding brand new Battanian set with every update?
My guess would be that this stuff is yet planned years ahead and is coming in its pace :smile:
