I'm trying my hand at modding for Warband and I've come across three campaign map tools that make the process a lot easier. Out of these three (Swyters, Bloodpass and Thorgrim) I've found Thorgrim is the most intuitive and easiest to use since it allows you to import .bmp files and use them as a baseline (which makes the whole process enormously easy for a pleb like me).
Only problem is that it's made for the original Mount & Blade. I copied the three .txt files (map, parties and map_icons) from Warband native and replaced the original M&B native files but I run into the problem that I can't move parties (towns and villages) around anymore. When I try to click on any of them, it doesn't select the one I want, it picks one of two parties (two random castles or towns). Most of the town icons also don't spawn for some reason. Am I doing something wrong here?
