I can't take my eyes off of it.

And to remain on-topic: Does anyone think that CL will answer all of the questions that we're posted on this thread?

Goodness me, no. I mean, 10% Questions if you can throw the pummel of your sword, 10% Questions about Butter, 40% meme's, 20% Questions already answerd in some way and 20% Questions actully worth answering.

Or Capt Lust will make extra hours and answer every single butter meme.

Would indeed be pretty cool, but also a bit unrealistic, aswell as being not good if you want anything like mobility. Also, in for example L'Aigle battles always go the same, simply becouse you first need to eleminate the enemy Arty. I would like it to be toggleable (good englísh, comrade, that was 100% wrong).

I wonder if siege weapons can be used in regular battles.
What would you do with a siege tower on a battle field ? What about ladders and ram ? Other usefull weapon like catapult were impossible to bring on a battlefield. Juste too heavy and unprecise (armies move, not walls). Only small balista were used, I would love to see ballista, but not siege weapons

on weapons.

the reason spears were used was simple. they were longer. on that node I would like to see at least three stances with them. the default stance which should attack by stabbing in a direction and block at long range by holding the spear forward in one of those directions. the short-range stance in which the character shortens the spear and uses techniques befitting sword-range and overhead stance which should be self-explanatory.

now I'm just a guy on the internet so I don't know the details but I think this should be enough.

on siege weapons.

I think that a medieval 2 total war like system would be nice where one can make simple siege weapons on site but needs dedicated worksops in cities for more complex weapons which then need to be carried.

You're both wrong. The most dangerous weapon of the mediaeval era was the blunt edge of class warfare wielded against the poor.
considering the distribution of armour on a battlefield this comment is more literal than you think

also, MrMumndy, did you write "no dirty porn" there? because to me the middle word looked like some weird Japanese symbols...

also, what the **** does the etymology of the word girl have to do with bannerlord.

...
speaking of girls, I hope we can actually kill any children we see in bannerlord. it might be a bit cruel but since I expect bannerlord to be 16+ at least I don't think there is a real reason to hold back on this feature. it is quite jarring when children somehow do not die. it kind of takes you out of nthe experience.

although I'm personally way to lawfullgood to ever roleplay anything below a pragmatic knight in sour armour.

...

OOH, SHINY *runs with his eye into the point of a sword*

2nd word was "dirty". I dont know what that **** about Girl had to mean, besides that he got banned over it which is incredibly stupid.
I realy hope we can slaugter their Children, espacilly after raiding a city. Getting yourself known as "the teribble" or something like that.

578 was banned for flaming over the whole of March and getting warned by practically every moderator on the site. The final straw was him calling a moderator uneducated, which got him huted, and creating a duplicate account, which got him banned. The word "girl" has nothing to do with it.

Huh. I thought he'd last a bit longer than this. Oh well.

The Bannerlord hype train moves on in spite of this! Now we just need a new blog to add to add fuel!

Remember weapon mode switch with X from Warband? I wonder if that returns. Might be good way to switch stances of the same weapon.

Halfswording or RIOT!

I want Bastard Sword which you can then swap from hand to hand. Or with every weapon that doesnt require booth of your hands. I want my ordinary sword to be swung with 2 hands in the back of some guy in the street.

don't worry, I can still take over the role of posting pointless banter

RIOT!

EDIT: though I would prefer separate buttons for each stance since toggling is often impractical and a one-way toggle can be disastrous. on that note, are the U,I,O and P buttons used for anything at the moment?
(also please give us the ability to continuously swing a greatsword in order to bash pikes)

do you want to swap from 1 hand to 2 hands or from left to right(or the other way around)?
if the latter, I don't think uit is required. except for the occasional hidden dagger.
if the former, why not? after all the difference between a longsword, a bastard sword and a tweehandig zwaard (why should the monopoly on funky sword terms be given to the germans) is very gradual and often pretty slim.

I just want the animations for one handed sword wielding (without an off hand) to be better. In Warband it clearly demonstrates how if you were using a 1-handed sword you should have something in your offhand. Your offhand simply flails around while your sword hand does all the work. Maybe even a push / pull / daze button when using only one handed sword.

It could work like the E kick, but instead when you press RMB with no shield equipped and a one handed weapon you could do a very short reach (arm length) mini-stun like the kick does, except it doesn't leave you as open as the kick. Would actually give people who want to do only one-handed sword wielding more viability and an interesting but balanced combat mechanic.

Want to forgo a shield in your offhand to get a mini-stun that doesn't leave you as open as the kick? Don't use a shield in your off hand, just have it free. You'll forgo a lot of defensive capabilities, like all directional block and blocking arrows, but in smaller combat scenarios it would be more useful. I could see it becoming an interesting fighting mechanic for duel servers. People with 2 handers would try and use their footwork to keep their distance and use the reach to their advantage, a one handed user would try and close the distance to do a mini stun with off hand to get in a free, but weaker, hit. They could have gone for a shield in the offhand, but they prefer the mini-stun better, or maybe they like it one vs one more so.

So now you're thinking "But Smurf we already have that in the version of the kick!" To which I reply: Which is why we should make them have seperate uses. The kick more than likely would have farther reach and be available for everyone despite what weapon they are using. To counteract this, just like in current MP it can leave you wide open if you press it at the wrong time. On the other hand people with no offhand / 2 hander could make use of a RMB mini-stun by making the time frame for use not as long as the kick but have less reach. Along with this it would only be available to those with an open offhand.

It creates the interesting decision "I'm in a duel with this guy who has a 2hander... He outreaches me and my shield can not take much more. Should I put it up? If I do, then I can make use of my RMB if I get in close while parrying directional attacks with my sword. Once in close I can get a stun with maybe a chance at a guaranteed smaller damage hit." This could also transfer to a mass MP setting where people put up their shield in hopes of gaining a better advantage versus only one or two people in melee, but they risk being riddle with arrows since the shield is now away. Risk / Reward combat mechanics that can help balance out the playstyles WHILE also making one a more viable use of combat.

Another thought to make it so people don't just run at each other and spam the button is that unlike the kick the RMB off hand stun can not go through shield blocks, or maybe it would have a slightly lower stun timer on people who were blocking when it happened. This would require in game testing to get this right though.

I realy hope that armor will affect damage of Swords more. in Warband, you could still damage someone in realy heavy armor with a sword. I require the possibilty to grab the sword at its blade and bash the sh*t out of some Lords. (aka half-swording)

I'd like to see both this half-swording and the act of shortening one's sword by grabbing the blade for added accuracy.

@not summerfell,
while I would like to see something akin to a grapple  the left hand should have a function in 1-h fighting anyway since it is used for balance. Iwould like to see an option though to dynamically switch between 2-h (higher strenth and stability) and 1-h (higher reach and mobility)  with the ability to grapple anytime.
