Hey just providing some feedback from my time so far, these are just observations I've made during my play through to this point, if anyone has had similar or contradicting experiences.
in the last 3 in game years my aligned kingdom (Southern Kingdom) has been at war with at least 5/7 of the other kingdoms with majority spent 6+, while although great for influence grinding constantly trading castles/towns however it is hard to establish any garrisons/acquire units fast enough to keep up with the constant engagements of roving armies. Perhaps the Southern Kingdom just happen to be the most heinous people in my particular save file.
Admittedly I have executed prisoners (however only one kingdoms vassals), this only started approximately midway through this mass conflict after deciding to test as to whether you could force peace by reducing available vassals to viably remain at war with the kingdom executing them (it only pissed them off more). This begins to highlight part of my suggestion but I have another gameplay moment that stands out to me.
During this 3 Year world war during the entire first year of being at war with the other kingdoms the Western Kingdom was the only Kingdom we had not had conflict with, during this struggle and ongoing conflict I had built my clan to being the 2nd most influential in the Southern Kingdom, I had also courted the daughter of their ruler Garios of the Western Kingdom and with his blessing we wed. Literally within two days of the coming together (you see what I did there?) of the the Ruler of the Western Kingdoms Clan and the 2nd most influential clan in the Southern Kingdom and despite being at war with all other kingdoms, my leige thought it prudent to declare war on the Western Kingdom.
There are a few other issues like in the most recent patch, lords repeatedly trying to engage with you after you have persuaded them to join your kingdom, two handed swords and mace prices increased tenfold and some other economy based issues but I'm sure the team is already aware of these and working to balance this by the time the game leaves early access.
My desired outcomes would be
-Improvements to Ruler AIs to be more critical when deciding whether to wage/continue a war and perhaps a slider to be more receptive to and eventually seek peace treaties as the number of active wars increase.
-More ways to gain large amounts of positive relations with AI, perhaps allowing you to join an engagement with a non aligned kingdom if they're engaged with bandit hostiles or kingdoms you're at war with.
-Kingdoms reacting to the strength of their armies ie if 60% of Lords are under the 40% capacity limit to recruit to Army the ruling AI seeks a peace treaty. Perhaps conceding Denars, resources, maybe even mercenaries and fiefs.
-Perhaps the Introduction of an Ally Kingdom status to provide another status outside war and peace influenced by actions like marriage, common enemies, Ruler AI positive relation status etc
If you survived this long thank you for your time, probably going to start a new character to see if theres any correlation.
