In Progress Game wont start

Users who are viewing this thread

Un-goddamn-believable. Hours of troubleshooting, reinstalling, booting with different configurations, going through firewall and anti-virus settings, and you know what fixed the issue for me? Switching my region from US to UK and language from English (US) to Engligh (UK). Fixed as in I got the launcher to work and I'm past the loading screen, about to start the tutorial. Good luck to everyone who still has issues, see you on the other side!

Did you change the region in steam?

for the many many many of you having this issue as i am as well (game starts loads loads loads..... crash to desktop before even reaching main menu) I have found a temporary fix that will let you play the game (hopefully) while we all wait for our glorious leaders to patch the game.

-Go into the your bannerlord folder, under /bin you'll see the shipping client folder.
-Find Bannerlord.exe (NOT native or BE)
-Right Click and set run as admininstrator, you should be bypassing the launcher and forcing the game to launch directly

*Hope this helps you all! we've waited a long time for this game and I know im enjoying it no matter how many bugs pop up
Thanks for trying to help, but if you read earlier in the thread, several of us tried that (and every other idea that helped some people get into the game) and it still crashes after the splash screen and horse running in the right (no error just CTD, though we pulled several logs and posted them from event viewer.)

Hi.

I've just purchased the game and when I click on play in Steam the game loads briefly and then doesn't open.

My steam sort of refreshes as if I had closed out of it without it ever actually opening.

->Click play
->Says I'm in game
->Game doesn't open
->Says I'm online (no longer in game)

Help I just want to play :'(
Update your windows it solved the issue for me, game requirest lates version of frame network

I believe this is the culprit, i have .net framework 4.8.x on a windows 10 64bit with latest updates on everything.

Application: Bannerlord.exe
Framework Version: v4.0.30319
Description: The process was terminated due to an unhandled exception.
Exception Info: System.BadImageFormatException

Finally found a solution that worked for me (I have tried all solutions posted here). I used my computer with swedish as default language but with no language pack for it, which made the computer default to english. So I simply downloaded the language pack for swedish in language settings in windows 10 and after restarting the computer, the game worked.

This worked for me! I did what you said and switched both region and language to UK and started the game. At main menu now. I was even able to switch back to US for region and language and the game will launch. Very bizarre.

This worked for me https://steamcommunity.com/app/261550/discussions/0/2149847049321996712/ It worked for others having the same problem too as seen in 2 threads on the steam forums.
Interesting, but mine seems to crash on banners/UI Widgets:

Deleting them doesn't help.

Hi, I'm the creator of this post:

I've tried every single fix, including Callum's on the frontpage. My windows is up to date, my drivers are up to date, I've reinstalled, still nothing.

I've also tried Hammer's fix and also nothing:

okay i found a solution here, this worked for me try it out
I have tried everything but nothing has worked. Then, i have started investigate "rgl_log_7092.txt" at "C:\ProgramData\Mount and Blade II Bannerlord\logs" . After the last line, there is no loading message and it ends. The file in the last line was "std_TaleWorlds_CampaignSystem-zho-CN.xml". I have just delete it which locates at "C:\SteamLibrary\steamapps\common\Mount & Blade II Bannerlord\Modules\SandBox\ModuleData\Languages\CN".

I'm attaching logs from "rgl_log_errors_25104", perhaps it helps:

And the last 5 lines from "rgl_log_25104" are:

I'm starting to suspect that at least a decent chunk of the crushes is somehow connected to the UI and displaying language:
1) There's an entire thread with people having issues with fonts - https://forums.taleworlds.com/index...aphics-font-issues-with-temporary-fix.396712/
2) Switching locales sometimes help
3) My game dies on "widgets"
4) AcidFluxMx's on "localized text"
5) the steam thread mentions "Bannerlord\Modules\SandBox\ModuleData\Languages\CN".

Sadly, I'm not a programmer, so I can't even begin to formulate a theory.

So I also tried to launch the battle eye .exe in the win64_Shipping_client and I am getting these error messages.
12:07:53: Starting BattlEye Service...

12:07:58: Launching game...
12:08:02: Note: File blocks can be ignored if they don't cause problems with the game.

PS.
This has been a MASSIVE disappointment. 8 years for an "early access". It even says I have 20 minutes of play time that has accrued because of the many number of times of tried to just start the stupid game.

I can only launch from the bin folder. I have tried literally everything in this thread and elsewhere and I cannot for the life of me get the god damned launcher to work. It doesn't work from Steam, and it doesn't work from GeForce.

Guys listen up, the solution was very simple in my case:

Just remove the file located at: \SteamLibrary\steamapps\common\Mount & Blade II Bannerlord\Modules\SandBox\ModuleData\Languages\CN and run the game.

Hope it works for you as well!

I have 36 files in that folder. I have tried deleting the one mentioned in the steam thread, and deleting all of them. Made no difference.
