also combining Reach and Stormlands, hope that is an April fools joke, but whatever it's your mod

Azsouth, he asked for thoughts  So this can be your opportunity to share (in a constructive way) why you think this is not a good idea

Bugs, trade secrets and cool pictures

Trade secrets:
Only read if you want huge amount of cash.  :shifty:
I've now gone from town to town looking at the best enterprises. It's generally most productive to invest your gold into towns in Westeros, not Essos (except for perhaps Ironworks in Braavos. As you can see from the two weeks the prices fluctuate (sometimes negative) which means I've probably missed something, but these are my most valuable businesses.

I have no idea how you're getting so much gold from your shops. I've invested in every city except two, they all give ~500g per time. Are you doing anything to improve trade somehow?

Just saw this on another community, not sure if it's from the same person, but I'm wondering if there's a bug somehow? I've never seen a shop give more than 1k gold.

So I have just captured Ser Gregor Clegane (aka "the mountain") and now Asha greyjoy. Two major characters of their Kingdoms. Can I expect a nice large ransom? or shall I just kill Gregor?..and keep the chick.

Did the new update break the mod? Every time I start a new game, it says loading map and then I get "Mount and Blade Warband has stopped responding".

I get constant freezes for some odd reason when playing this mod...

Whenever I try to do certain actions...or really any actions...such as starting a battle, leaving a town, trying to enter a village, or even get off the troop tree screen the game will randomly freeze forever. No error msg what so ever and I have to use ctrl - alt - del just to exit the game.  This hasn't happen to me on any other warband mod what so ever...I am baffled about what to do or how to fix it...I already did all the easy things that I thought might fix it (uninstall warband - redownload the mod - change various graphic settings) no luck what so ever...it's also so random as well...I can go for a couple hours without a hitch...but if I try to play again the next day or something it could freeze on the first screen after taking an action.

If anyone has had this happen to them or any solutions I would be most grateful if you would share them!

Try Alt + Tab then Alt + Tab back to Warband, sometimes the game hasn't crashed but the screen has frozen, just needs a refresh.

Not sure if this bug is known but peasants are replaced by Sellsword man-at-arms in save village from bandits as well as looting villages and fighting. It makes saving villages ridiculously easy when the peasants themselves could beat any bandits and makes looting a lot harder than it should be

She talks to much! Just give me what you have! I can't stand her no more

@cozur, I'm not sure. You've not asked for it. Do you want me to post bugged siege castles?

List of castles that I've noticed are bugged in siege mode:
Sisterton
Dragonstone ( second level when attacking )
Moat Cailin

Dragonstone
Once you defeat the first level you spawn on the docks of Dragonstone. There are about 5 enemies who spawn in the water. Same thing happen two times I tried it.

Moat Cailin
Very nice looking keep and atmosphere, but it's broken. I did this one 4 or 5 times. It starts with my own guys getting stuck all over the place. The enemy decide it's a good idea to climb down from their keep. Everyone gets stuck every where.

Starting quest dialog.

http://i.imgur.com/6J4rKx5.jpg

I think you should make the starting quests a more clear as to what Osbert Clerk is actually proposing to the player. I don't understand why choosing the second option straight out denies the player from 3 fun quests. For the sake of clarity, I suggest Osbert Clerk explicitly ask the player for favors because "something something".

Right now Osbert Clerk ask the player to come to Pentos. The player have two dialog options which essentially goes along the lines of: "No Mr Clerk, I'm not going to Pentos, I'm staying in Westeros". One of the options are of an ambitious nature while the other is less so. Neither Osbert Clerk nor the dialog options informs the player that he is about to embark on quests or not.

Maybe I'm just stupid and everyone know this, but I just found out I've been missing out on quests. I always saw these two dialog options as the same dialog options the play have when addressing a lord for the first time. http://i.imgur.com/WaIcHLc.jpg I thought the options were meaningless.

If you haven't allready set your virtual memory at 1.5x-2x the size of your RAM. Also go to your Documents/Mount&blade Warband folder, open rgl_config.txt with notepad, then change the number behind render_buffer_size to 256 or 512. Also other stuff you can tinker with in that file.

Free cities / free folk lords have all the same banner (faction banner)
in 1.5 This was not present.
Can anyone show me how to edit 2.0 so lords have their own banners rather then faction banner?

Hi all, first time long time here.

Love the mod, been playing it the past few months. did 2 campaigns on 1.5 and now on 2.0.

Realize I will not be the first to say much of this but just wanted to give my thoughts.

1. Economy is a bit messed up. In general I love the new trade items and think that the trading system in 2.0 is great but basically most places are way too poor. I'm not just talking about The war torn Seven kingdoms where it makes sense from a lore standpoint for poverty to be wide spread but even places like Braavos and Pentos which are described as wealthy in the books and have not been at war at all are described as wretched/unbearable etc.. in my game. I am about 600 days in btw.

2. Diplomacy. I understand the reasons that Diplomacy is locked and for the most part I actually agree with them. I would not want  the random diplomacy of native implemented between the main warring factions of the Seven Kingdoms. Especially in the early part of the game. However after a few playthroughs it does get awfully static, especially in the east where once the Dothraki take care of business in Volantis nothing at all happens (at least in the 2 playthroughs that I've done that got past day 600 or so). I see that some attempt has been made to change the diplomacy here a little has been implemented regarding Myr/Lys/Tyrosh but it doesn't appear to be working properly. Basically Tyrosh just declares war against Lys literally every chance it gets. Even after I had eliminated Tyrosh they still kept declaring war and making peace with Lys over and over.  At any rate some possible suggestions for tweaking the diplomacy (please keep in mind I have no idea how modding works and as such I understand that some of these ideas may not be feasible):

a. More quests to get factions to make war. This has already been done with the quest to make Dorne declare war and was a great idea. Why not add one to make the Vale join? [BOOK SPOILERS COMING] The Vale of course has not yet declared war in the books but then neither has Dorne. and Khal Phono has not invaded Volantis yet either. Another idea that has been mentioned by others is a quest to get the Ironborn to declare against the reach.

b. Make the Dothraki more aggressive perhaps? In both of my playthroughs they have taken over Volantis and then just chilled the **** out. I think they are locked into war with Qohor in 1.5 but never do anything about it. in 2.0 they aren't even at war with them and I have never seen them declare war against anyone after conquering Volantis. They have the numbers to easily take out any of their neighbours it seems and in the lore they are hyper aggressive so it just seems odd to see them do nothing at all once they take over Volantis.

c. (long shot) make a quest or trigger to reset the diplomacy to random. This could make the late game fun. IE if the player takes King's Landing (or some other place) or eliminates a particular faction or passes day 1000 or whatever the war of the 5 kings ends and it just becomes a free for all. Okay maybe it's a dumb idea but I did like the trigger event that happens when the Wastelands lose King's landing in 2.0 and more of those to offer new Diplomacy scenarios in the game could be a lot of fun.

Anyways those were the ideas that were on my mind, thought I'd share. Thanks again love the mod.

Does anyone know how to get the quest that gives Orphan Maker? In 2.0 there is no character in the Braavos castle that gives the quest.
Any idea?
I know it's still ingame because I found it with cheats.

I noticed Stormland Archers have very short ranges, they didn't have a much greater range than my Dornish Skirmisher in a battle I fought.
Reach Crossbowmen, a Stormland Archer and a Dornish Elite Skirmisher lined up. The crossbows began shooting almost as soon as the battle began. They closed and eventually, the Stormland archer let off two arrows and then the Dornish Skirmisher began throwing. The archer was frankly useless and would have better fought for me as a man-at-arms. Finally, my infantry charged the enemy and bent the outlaws over a table and ****ed them raw.

I've had good experiences with the mod, but Stormland archers have a pathetically short range in comparison to crossbows of the same rank.
