Moving to 16 gb, updating to the latest patch and deleting the Bannerlord config folder and redo-ing my settings made my game run incredibly smooth. I barely get any stutters now or sound delays. I see usage of around 10~ GB of ram after an hour of gameplay in SP campaign, so, yeah, it's probably ram-starved.

Try deleting your config folder first, though, it might help.

Just recently I have upgraded my system from 8GB to 16GB.
Based on this, no longer encounter the issue on e1.4.2.
You just have to play longer for issue to happen. Those freezes happen when combat is involved. Battles, sieges, tournaments. I spent 15 minutes just riding in town after accepting Deserters quest, no slowdowns. TABed out and waited for deserters. When battle started, so did "freezes". Size doesnt matter - same happens with 500vs 500 as in 1v1 tournament.
