In the words of Omar Bradley, “Amateurs talk strategy. Professionals talk logistics”. So buckle up for some serious professional talk, because in this week’s blog we'll be covering supply in Bannerlord -- both how to get the food and other materials that you need, and how to deny them to your enemy!

How do you feel about our expectations for your game? Does the pressure get to you?

I can say for certain i haven't been this excited for an upcoming game since i first learnt of Mount & Blade, before it's release. Just looking at screenshots makes my stomach tingle, so i have been avoiding spoiling myself as much as possible - i want to go into the game when it releases completely fresh, with no knowledge of what to expect!

Exciting!

I think you mean vapourware. But we know the game exists, there is just the question of when it will be released.

Relations between the army commander and lords

As long as the army is successful in their efforts and the lord commander is keeping the other lords happy, then the army can go on marching for a long time. But if things don’t go so well, the army will quickly dissolve and lords will decide to abandon the campaign and return to their own lands.[/i]

How will this work with mercenaries, farmers, bandits or troops from other factions? Let's say I recruit several bandits and I do not do get along well with the commander because I fail a "fetch cattle" quest, will the bandits just bail out?

I hope to see a blog on a banner creator for our factions, is this going to be an option for Bannerlord?  I remember Warband having a broken version of a custom banner creator tool that was disabled in Warband.

Question for QA Tester, Onurcan Dönmez, what do the letters Q and A mean in your title? Thank you.
Question Answering. Everybody knows this.

"Quality Assurance", just a phrase that practically means testing.

My bet is the game ignores some areas of the screen when calculating the screen space reflections, for performance sake.
What we see in these bad reflections is likely to be the failure of the system that predicts which parts of the screen space will actually affect the resulting reflex.

In simpler words: the game thinks we won't be able to see the pixels behind palm trees.

That's not what's happening. I explained it above: the game can't actually "see" any of the pixels "behind" the tree because SSR is calculated after the frame has already been rendered, so all it has access to is the 2D image of the rendered frame. The algorithm can't distinguish between something just hanging in front of the reflection path or something actively blocking it, so it just assumes it's being blocked (which creates fewer errors overall).

You can even see that some of the pixels have managed to ignore the palm tree creating that odd "ghosting" effect, because SSR doesn't sample all the pixels along the reflection path, only some of them, meaning that some of the reflections are calculated correctly because they haven't "noticed" the palm tree in their way.

SSR is fairly easy to understand and there is plenty of stuff written about it online that you can read if you're interested.

You did not get my point.

The game is able to "see" what it should render in that part of the reflection, but for some reason decide to not do so. For some reason the game seems to think that the player won't be able to see that area so it saves some processing. Just my thoughts.

I wonder in Bannerlord if you are able to become king by marriage into the royal family of a Kingdom and if and i was also wondering if you could outline how to take over or create your own faction thank you

Is this the first time we get an interview with a QA?

No, Meriç Neşeli was the QA Lead and Game Designer - 28/9/17 blog:

Naturally, the QA team gets to spend a lot more time playing Bannerlord than the rest of our colleagues which means that we have a somewhat deeper understanding of the current state of the game than others.

According to my understanding:

In Bannerlord, a faction is ruled by a dominant clan (which can be changed by clan votes). So a Warband king = the clan leader of the ruling clan (again this individual can die and be replaced). Marrying the daughter of the ruling clan leader won’t admit you into the ruling clan as the player leads his own separate clan. So marriage will not give you a right of inheritance as your wife will have left the ruling clan to join yours. You will need to replace the ruling clan with your own by other means.

But how about marrying clan rulers son.  Will he make another clan or i will be part of the ruling clan. In warband you can be queen by brainwashing your husband.

It stamds for question & answers....

Normally it does, yes, but in game studios it has a different meaning. In Taleworlfs the QA Testers job is to test the Quests and the Armies in Bannerlord.

My question for Quest and Army Tester, Onurcan Dönmez, is:
a. What's your favourite quest in the game?
b. What your favourite army in the game?
