Yugoslavia WW2 Documentaries

Users who are viewing this thread

I'm just wondering if there are any good documentaries out there about (as the title suggests) Yugoslavia during WW2, preferably focusing on the atrocities committed by the Ustase, Chetniks and any other major parties during the war. By good I'm looking for something accurate, as unbiased as possible, in English or at least with English Subtitles and not requiring too much background knowledge so I can show it to other people.
Thanks for any replies

I found something, but it's in Turkish

The ustase centralized their crimes into larger massacres and "cleansings" so you should not have much trouble finding info about them.
The chetniks however, were spread out everywhere in very small bands, so their atrocities are extremely numerous but with lower amounts of murders per war crime.
Finding a good enough source of information about their crimes is rather troublesome because of that.

You will also find that most of the work done on chetnik crimes are either Croatian(subjective) or Serbian(extremely subjective, most will attempt to rehabilitate the movement as some "freedom fighters").

Basically, both were inhuman scum with a few drops of heroic behavior and decent people within the pool of crimes and murder.
They are just slightly worse than the partisans, which were monsters as well...sigh, ww2...
