2. I brought it up because I decided it was relevant. It has gotten to the point where some elements on the left will refer to anyone rightwards of Hilary as fascist or Nazis, and it's by proximity discrediting any other accusations of fascism or Nazism.

Then bring it up when someone does overuse those words instead of when it's accurate.

Nazi is a valid abbreviation. Fash sounds like something I **** out in the mornings.

Basically I only ever see the overexaggerators saying "fash" instead of "fascist", so of course my mind made that connection.

Yeah, and usually the people that say that are the sorts of people like in the video I posted a page or two ago who attack completely innocuous people and declare them fascists and Nazis for defending freedom of expression or whatever. Sooo...

I mostly agree. In theory I think Nazis (read: real ones such as the Nordic Defence League) deserve to be punched. Punching Nazis status: still good. But in practice, that's just good PR for them. Better to show up in numbers and protest peacefully so they can see that most people oppose them. Even though they're crazy conspiracy theorists so who knows how much it really helps.
