I also question the physics of using a spear against a charging horse. When hit by a full speed charge by lance or spear the player should be dead even in full armor... no question (100+ damage makes sense). But when i shove a spear into the chest of a horse at full speed i only cause 50 or less damage to the horse... Why. Physics works in both directions so the force delivered should be equal both ways. If i simply stood on spear and let a horse charge it... that spear would bury deep into vital organs, break bones and almost certainly break the spear.
