This looks amazing, best of luck in developing this  Will you be posting a more detailed write-up on the lore?

Not sure what you mean by that docm.

Dumizid seems interesting!  Hopefully we can learn more about these Sarast Knights in an upcoming post of yours :fruity:.
They are Arabian nomads, sort of. Not much is written on them at the moment, though.

Will they be kinda like Khergits on steroids?

Go to 1:12 in the trailer to see what they look like.

They aren't Mongols like the Khergits are; I would put them more as Bedouins or Arabs.

I think he asks why are skeletons friendly... Just supposing here.
I mean, in the trailer you can talk with them.

Some lore written by Druidic, has a bit of history.

Aerune, a land of war and rivalries, found itself a common enemy in the Hernar in 203 A.D., when a warlord by the name of Ragnvald united the squabbling Northern tribes to form the Hernar, who invaded Aerune and inflicted crushing losses on the Kingdom of Swangarde, who had initially controlled the icy north in that time. When the Swangarde were pushed back to their last holding of Mistmyre, Ragnvald set his sights  on the Kingdom of Estmere. Estmere had no original intention of siding with Swangarde in this war, believing them to be fully capable of handling the tribal threat. Swangarde's steep losses during the first ten years of the Hernar campaign would persuade the King of Estmere to send aid to Swangarde. Ragnvald responded by sending his main army to assault Estmere, while the Aginnum Empire and the Kingdom of Erskine were desperately trying to hold back the tide on their side of Lake Allaire. The Erskines were pushed back to their ocean stronghold of Cairnloch, and Aginnum lost lands including the city of Adurni, only stopping in a stalemate siege at Faventia Keep for months. With Ragnvald's army seemingly unstoppable thanks to his bitter drive and determination, his conquest of Aerune looked like it would succeed. Only the Kingdom of Sarast, ruling over the desert far to the south, were untouched by the Hernar; and they used the opportunity of Aginnum's distraction to take land belonging to the Aginnum Empire, expanding their kingdom's holdings past their desert.
Ragnvald took his force to Angiers Castle after gaining much ground in Estmere, confident that this would be the battle that would break the kingdom. However, it was here where the fearsome Ragnvald would meet his end in a bloody siege. Thus, the Hernar army broke and their conquest ground to a halt, with Estmere, Swangarde, and eventually the Kingdom of Erskine rallying their troops to beat back the Hernar. Swangarde reclaimed some of its lost lands, and the Hernar, who had increasingly ineffective rulers after Rabnjorg's death, declined further and further as the years pressed on, at one point only possessing small holdings in the North.

It wasn't until 890 A.D. that fortunes for the Hernar would return. Jormund, a distant descendant of Ragnvald, had realized that he needed more than sheer manpower to conquer Aerune. He enlisted the aid of several necromancers, and used dark magic to summon long-dead Hernar ancestors from the grave. Ragnvald was summoned, intended to be a general in Jormund's army. Jormund predicted that due to his spell, Ragnvald would have no ability to resist, and Jormund would have in his possession a brutal barbarian leader who had almost conquered Aerune in his time. After the resurrection, the Hernar in a matter of mere months siezed the Swangarde port of a Morlanas, and reconquered much more land with Ragnvald as the undead general leading the offensive. Aerune once again braced themselves for a bloody war.
But Jormund was wrong in his arrogant prediction. Ragnvald proved more brutal and resilient in death than Jormund could imagine, resisting the controlling spell that was infamously flawless, and Ragnvald slew Jormund on the 14th of October, 890, after a coup de etat led by Ragnvald himself. A day that has been revered by the most cruel in the Hernar hierarchy as "Cleansing Day", when Ragnvald would happily kill off a random number of the Hernar population in the capital to symbolize his cruelty, malice, and to enforce his power. All Hernar lords unquestionably serve Ragnvald, and as a result, all Hernar have grown to be more barbaric in battle.
Tales had spread across Aerune of cannibalism, live dismemberment, and even "puppeteering", which involved posing the bodies of those slain in humorous (to the Hernar) poses, in often gruesome displays. Ragnvald, as of current days, is in the beginning of a new offensive, largely at the expense of Kingdom of Swangarde and the Erskine Highlanders once again; but soon all of Aerune.

At this time of 891 A.D., Aerune is once again in tatters. The Aginnum Empire, following the disbandment of the Aginnum Senate, and Imperator Titus's coup de etat, was plunged into turmoil. A rival faction arose that split the Empire into two. The faction of former politicians and generals from the province of Aphillius declared independance, claiming the deserts conquered decades earlier from the Sarast as well as much of Aerune's southern coastline.

As the Aginnum Empire readies up for war with Aphillius, the Kingdoms of Erskine and Swangarde must brace themselves for a new Hernar invasion. Estmere is in a prime position to invade or help Swangarde, to expand or fortify the front line against the Hernar, while the Kingdom of Erskine is trapped between the Hernar, Aphillius and Aginnum factions, and may not survive to see another sunset.

If the kingdoms cannot stand as one against the Hernar, then Aerune will be conquered. The only thing that stopped the Hernar in the first conquest was the mortality of their leader, Ragnvald. With Ragnvald and other Hernar warriors back from the dead, there is surely no way to repel the invaders this time... unless someone with enough tenacity can muster up the strength to face the Hernar Empire, and possibly take the fight to them. It is time to prove that no ruler, even in death, is truly invulnerable.  It is time to prove that a mortal man can stand over the defeated Bones of Ragnvald!

I'll post the map when it looks a little better, so the locations make more sense. If anyone wants to help out with some map icons I would definitely appreciate that!

Caught this one a bit late, but good luck in your project.

Can anyone think up a name for a crater in the southeast of the map? It looks like this:
TOgoYLx.jpg
It was formed by an asteroid millions of years ago- no dark magic or any **** like that. It's being a crater has little relevance to the game, it just looks cooler on the map.

The lore is looking good so far. Between the mention of how they poisoned the living Ragnvald in the trailer & what was stated about them in the newest lore blurb, I think I'm starting to like those cunning Estmereans

As for a name for the crater - considering it was created by a meteor's impact, perhaps the 'Star's Grave' or 'Heaven's Anchor'?

I'd rather just have a less sci-fi name to it- the medieval folks in Aerune wouldn't know why the crater is there or what made it, they would only know the land feature and then name it something.

I'm just not creative enough to think of that name.
