After reading another post about how complicated the melee combat is I came up with the idea of a training dummy with dynamic hitzones.

Some of these threads describing problems with the combat system sound like it is hard for new players to hit certain body zones accurately.
Everybody should have completed the (short) combat tutorial, but I think especially for new players to M&B, the musclememory needs quite some time to adjust to the unique way the game approaches melee combat. (No hack and slay)

A stationary training dummy could help here. Located in the training zone but also in every courtyard, these training dummies could activate once hit with a melee attack and highlight its different hitzones dynamically to reflect the need to switch directional attacks during "real" combat.
One of the advantages these dummies provide is you don't need to block yourself and you can train as long as you want.
Some sort of hit counter would be neat.
