Well, decided to add more details because it was too bare, so I can call it an early work in progress. :wink:

a question Adoro

what castles were replaced , because i want to cheat take one and see how much i can take with an 200 soldier army to defend itself

pwety please???

I really don't know anything about the keep. Moldovans had boyars instead of lords by the way, the king ruled these castles, it is a little different comparing to the western castles, but still an WIP. :wink:

Edit: Watched my video again, there is no keep in the fortress.

That's awesome and btw all the scene made by Adorno are awesome but there is a single annoying problem with textures. I think those castles textures need sometime changes, for example in this screenshot, the towers' roofs' tiles are too big. Increasing the size of their UVmapping would make it better. Unfortunately, that would take too much time.

It's included as a 'readme' in the download.

But here it is:
Here's a list of the files and what native castles they will replace:

Version 1.0

scn_castle_3_exterior.sco  =  Bulugha          =  Tonbridge Castle

scn_castle_20_exterior.sco  =  Derchios        =  Pevensey Castle

scn_castle_23_exterior.sco  =  Tevarin          =  Classic Motte & Bailey Castle 2

scn_castle_26_exterior.sco  =  Senuzgda        =  York Castle / Clifford's Tower

scn_castle_31_exterior.sco  =  Vyincourd        =  Classic Motte & Bailey Castle

scn_castle_37_exterior.sco  =  Dramug          =  Carlisle Castle

Version 1.1

scn_castle_6_exterior.sco  =  Tilbaut          =  Llansteffan Castle

scn_castle_24_exterior.sco  =  Reindi          =  Beaumaris Castle

scn_castle_28_exterior.sco  =  Grunwalder      =  Conwy Castle

sry i should have read that , but most read files are "how ti install" and that's all

sry again.

These are absolutely stunning, Adorno.  Great work as always.  One day I would love to make a set of Quick Battle seiges featuring these castles - with Quick Battles it's possible to have a ton of specially placed spawn points so that the castle would have to be taken in incremental steps - the attacker first having to breach the outer walls, kill the defenders there, fight their way up through streets or interior defences, all the way to the Lord's front door.

That screenshot of the first motte and bailey you made is so beautiful.

Just makes me want to give up everything and build one in real life to live in it ... if I had a spare ten million, and a team of guys who were specialists in reacreating historic fortifications, I mean.

The larger castles are more spectacular, but that one's the most homely.  Imagine having a feast in there with all your mates - masses of ale, mead, venison, lark's tongue, and a pig with an apple in it's mouth.  Like a dream come true.

I would love to see recreations of the Scottish castles that I got trawled round as a kid, but most of them aren't very suited to M&B scene building, since they are either placed on massive volcanic rock outcrops (Stirling, Edinburgh) or are kind of small and "average" (Doune castle) or were built much later and never intended for warfare (Linlithgow Palace).  The major castles are also built near or in large towns or cities, which would be a scene-building nightmare.

You've got the talent for it, though!

Christ... I must. make. shorter. posts.

Great work, I hope some modules will include this piece of great architecture.
They are included in a few mods I think. 1257 A.D. is using some.
3 of them is in Brytenwalda (but I've made 10 castles and 4 towns in that mod, so they're just spam  :smile: )

I looked at some, but it seems to me the Scots built castles to brag about, and then hoped they'd keep out the enemy  :lol:
I mean they look really beautiful, as opposed to the 'square stones' the British built in Wales for instance.
That's not entirely true of course, but look at Blair Castle, Craigievar castle, Eilean Donan castle. Those are medieval *****-magnets  :smile:
So to build Scottish castles would require modeling.

Just a little question:

I know a tutorial about AI-meshes, but I didn't found one for entrypoints. The only one I found is for Custom Settlemets where the entrypoints are different to M&B. (such as the entrypoints for slaves and teammates)

Do you know one?

The entry points and passages for (native) castles are like so:
Passage 2. Castle door.
Passage 7. Prison door.

Entry point no:

0. Besiegers spawn
1. Player in courtyard
2. Player outside castle
3. Defenders sally out (should be placed outside the castle if they can't rush out through the gate).

7. Player outside prison

10. Where defenders gather. Should be in front of the ladders/siege tower, where the besiegers attack. Reinforcements will also move towards this entry point and stand ground.
11. The main force of defenders - this is where the largest group of (infantry) defenders spawn

15. Reinforcements. Make sure there's good room.

23. outside castle entrance
24. Prison guard (in front of the prison)

41/42/46/43. defenders on walls.

40/44/45. Defenders in towers (mostly ranged troops)

Siege towers have entry points 50-55 or something.
