Can you still switch a musket using these animation to a melee mode and have them function like they're attached to the right hand?  Or is an item attached to the left hand restricted to special animations?

Yes. The way weapon switching works is you define 2 weapons, 1 is the firearm the other is the melee weapon. You also have to give the model for each weapon. That model is usually the same but you can have one for the left hand and one for the right. So the shooting animations are on the left hand and the melee animations can be the old ones on the right.

All right I've been getting some PMs about this, it looks like the download link has expired.

So here it is, all of my animations for M&B that I still have on my HD:

Mirror:

Included is the module_animations.py file, that shows you how to modify your own module_animations file to get the animations working.

Is there any different animation than musket ones among your works?

Yeah, attack animations for pole-arms/bayonets. 2 animations for fixing and removing the bayonet, and a horse charge animations (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MaYS6ahfYiM).

I can't see your animations in my openBRF, I have an old version or sth like that?

You need to import the animation as a skeletal animation. You also need to import a skeleton if you don't already have one. The easiest thing to do is to open skeletons.brf file in the CommonRes folder and import the animations in there.

I love this reloading animation. So much in fact, I ported it to Napoleonic Wars (For personal use). Would you believe, many people have asked me where to get it from?

Cool. You're using the older animations though.

Might want to update to new ones

Also, some people have been trying to contact me over PM to help them get this to work. Sorry, I don't have time to work with every person individually. Just look at this thread for answers. If you still don't find them then ask and someone here will probably help you.

I am trying to put the reloading animation of the new version into my Napoleonic Wars module and I am having a hard time putting the code into the action text. Can someone help me with this?

Someone has already done it:

I've modified or completely re-done most of the animations, as well as mostly scrapped the whole attached to the left hand concept. I've also implemented phased reloading and separate animations for flintlock rifles/carbines.

I'm currently writing detailed instructions on how to implement all of this to a mod so expect a new version of my animations pack somewhere next month. If anyone is planning on using the current animations pack I'd advise against it. The new one will not be compatible.
