Currently I have 2 issues with the glance mechanics of this game.
Thrusts shouldnt glance at point blank range with swords (i understand a point blank thrust with a pike or lance glancing when your tip is beyond your target, but a thrust where your tip is slightly in your foe should not glance). This leads to silly spinning of thrusts which end up making your thrusts act more like slashes except they have to be down blocked. If anything the spinning of the thrust should glance or do less damage than the point of the weapon going right into your opponent.
Also Ive had instances, however rare, where my overhand chop targeting an enemy infront of me glanced. This did not make any sense, my only guess is the hitbox for the chop is extending too far past the hilt end of the weapon and triggering an on hit early in the animation before the blade passes my own head.
The glance mechanic does heavily favor 2h weapons, 2h weapons due to their high base damage and wide swing arcs have a much higher chance of doing the minimum damage nessisary for a stun.
