So, who else here likes Linkin Park? For those of you who don't know who they are, they're an American band, with Rap Rock, Alternative Rock, Alternative Metal and Industrial Rock in their songs. They're responsibly for great songs such as:

I liked "Hybrid Theory" back in the day. Especially 'Points of Authority' was part of my favourite songs for quite some time. It also had a nice video.
Unfortunately everything after that was bull****, remixes and then more bull**** and remixes thereof. Typical career of a band whose first record made way too much money.

And their latest two, three, whatever I didn't count, albums are even worse. In the beginning they were actually a "nu metal" band, or whatever hat genre was called.
But now? Something between run of the mill pop, screamo and something horribly similar to the runs.

I could show you like a thousand musics of them and you'd be surprised how Linkin Park songs can even be more heavy then Rise Against.

Rise Against, well I like some songs from theirs...
But when you come here comparing Rise Against with Linkin Park.... OMG

Yes you might like them more then Linkin Park but serioulsy, who the hell cares? That's your personal opinion.
The rates from true specialists rate Linkin Park so much higher then Rise Against that it is basically like a guy at 1 km of alttitude compared to one guy submersed.



I'm also a LP fan...
Love so many of their songs, for me they along with Foo Fighters are the best bands in Modern Rock.

In The End is my fav.

No matter what you say, nobody in the metal community thinks they are metal, which is what I was referring to. The reason why they get labeled that way is because of what MTV and co. did to change what people think of metal.

Nu metal music is mostly syncopated and based on riffs. Usually not consisting of guitar solos but more of mid-song breakdowns and virtuosity contrasts it with other metal subgenres.

Listen to some Linkin Park musics and then come here telling me they don't sing metal.
There's like a million sources saying that Linkin Park is a metal band yet you still question it and even say I lack on "music comprehension"

I dont know what they would be classified as these days, there are so many different categories, its retarded. Old LP was good.
