For example, I really like Empire Trained Infantry. Great value unit and versatile. But they gain enough xp to level very quickly, which I don't really want to change them (at least not most of them). But as soon as I put them in a garrison and hit "Done", any ones that were ready to upgrade are now randomly something else besides this treasure of a backbone unit. And it crushes my soul.
Is there any way to prevent this that anyone knows about, mod or otherwise? I have no control over what my forces are composed of and it's game breaking to me. I have tried the mod "Improved Garrisons", and though it's great for managing the upgrade path of units that are left in a garrison for long periods of time to gain xp and level how you want, it does nothing for units that are ready to upgrade and are deposited into the garrison. Would really, really appreciate some help, as this is ruining my fun.
