Testing a game is an integral part of the development process, and with a game of the scale of Mount & Blade II: Bannerlord, the testing process is paramount in ensuring that the many different features and systems, that more often than not are intertwined and dependant on each other, work as intended to provide players with a fun and enjoyable experience. In this week’s blog, we talk with one of the people responsible for making sure that the game meets the standards that both we and our players expect, QA Tester, Onurcan Dönmez.

[/parsehtml]Read more at: http://www.taleworlds.com/en/Games/Bannerlord/Blog/110

How about some footage from that tournament. I would enjoy seeing proud Imperials fight to the end.

I also think, because of last weeks blog, we should have a more detailed blog on influence.

I have another question as well that someone might know or I may have missed. Will army's be able to fortify positions? Maybe creating a sort of semi-permanent structure on the map? Not sure if this would be possible but it would be a great foundation for future mods.

He talks it down, but he definitely has the best job in the world

I was hoping he'd answer some of the good questions posed in last week's blog.

I'm a little disappointed that the beta is only for multiplayer though

Yes, every time an army spends the night somewhere on the map, it leaves a "****-filled Trench" structure there. These may have defensive uses in later battles at the location.

WHAT DO YOU CURRENTLY WORK ON?
“Multiplayer tests are taking most of my time recently. As we have already announced, we are preparing to enter a beta process soon and so we are working hard on this to present the game in the best way possible.”
Beta coming this year?
I would expect a beta this year, if not then early next year. after 2017 i didnt expect a release before 2020, but we should get a beta soon

Great update .. but so many new WB-like games being released lately.

.

tell me in what way is that game even remotly close to Mount & Blade? Besides having a medieval theme?

Also you aren't first with that comment, and funny how all you come with is modhau but you write "so many" xd

It's much sooner, in a few weeks maybe, if they are preparing it now by testing. The Gamescom version and the MP beta should not be overly related, except it would be neater if they finished the MP beta testing and the resulting changes/fixes before Gamescom.

I think the beta is closer than many expect.
Or more closed than expected.

Let not your mind be blurred by the songs of the mermaid, nor be content with visions of a Beta that we do not even know when it will take place. This year must be the year; therefore, more convincing information in devblogs and less cheap talk. Embrace the criticism since the only thing that is shown to us, are not more than projections of a shadow of something that we do not even know if it is. 2019: for an exit of the cavern.

There's no way they are going to have completed even the first round of beta testing before Gamescom, if they have even started it by then- it's only 3 months away and I don't think that is enough time to do a meaningful amount of testing and adjust the gameplay. After they have squashed bugs, they'll probably take a while to decide what changes need to be made, experimenting with further beta testing to be confident these changes satisfy players in practice. I think beta testing will still be going on in 2020.

Note that they already did (or are doing) the majority of testing themselves and have plenty of experience from Warband MP.
The MP beta doesn't have to be a long, drawn-out process. Some feedback on the fighting and game modes and they may call it a day. Obviously a MP person would give a better estimate, I'm just a SP master race person.

Will you be able to block the full force of a mounted charged lance/spear attack with any weapon by blocking downwards like those men are doing in the picture? If so, please fix that as it's utterly nonsense!

Not for the first time I notice strangeness - why do all people have the same faces?
blog_post_90_taleworldswebsite_02.jpg
Well, they're not exactly the same, but they are very, very similar, yes. Maybe the distance takes away most of the details, and their skin is exactly the same colour, so it looks even more similar? Beards look different, though. But I think it's the noses. They all have the same kind of nose. Is this Alabama? Curious, most curious...

And about vegetation.
Judging by the trees, this is a battle in an apple orchard (without apples), with a lonely standing pyramidal poplar in the distance.
But judging by the grass, rather, it is a wetland...

I have no idea. The grass is cool and all, but really doesn't quite fit the pastures from where those trees should be.

It often has somewhat tall and wild grass, and sporadic tree 'placement'
1200px-Coxilhas.jpg

Here we call them the "Pampas" (singular "Pampa"), which are vast stretches of coxilha terrain. It usually has very tall grass and often has some trees here and there, like the Bannerlord picture, but the grass is very different.

Trees are not that close, yes, but close enough, and wild grown grass looks very different from the overgrowth in the devblog picture.
For reference: these are random pictures I found on google. I very rarely took any pictures there, and I only have a crappy samsung cellphone.
I'm very, very far from a tree expert, like Yaga is, but that grass looks awfully misplaced. It looks cool, I'll grant TW that, but it looks very much like a Total War cenario from the latest games when you zoom in very close. That kind of grass is not typical of firm land and grass. I know I gave examples from a whole different continent, but vegetation isn't THAT much different from similar climates (and the examples I gave are from places of similar climate as mediterranean europe and turkey).

Ok, I'll admit it, I know nothing of vegetation, I just wanted an excuse to show you guys the place where I live. But I am correct in assuming that grass is not fitting!

I am not complaining about Bannerlord, nor crucifying the devs, I just thought that grass was a bit strange.

When are we going to have a developers' blog featuring an interview with the janitor of Taleworlds office? :shifty:

You should read my developer blog first.

Greetings warriors of Calradia !

My name is KhergitLancer99.

OFFICIAL JOB DESCRIBTION

I am a whiner commenter of devBlogs.

WHAT DO YOU NORMALLY DO IN YOUR DAY ?

I usually start my day writing edgy **** about how there isnt still a release date of this game.

WHAT DO YOU LIKE THE MOST ABOUT BANNERLORD ?

I like how they still ignore all we raging fans for 7 years.

WHAT'S THE MOST DIFFICULT THING THAT YOU SOLVED SO FAR, DURING THE PRODUCTION OF BANNERLORD?

Once there was a very commited fanboi who was trying to convince us to stop whining. Making him piss off was the most difficult thing probably.

WHAT DO YOU CURRENTLY WORK ON?

I am currently trying to convince taleworlds forum moderators to unban my forum account.

WHAT FACTION DO YOU LIKE THE MOST IN BANNERLORD?
