Testing a game is an integral part of the development process, and with a game of the scale of Mount & Blade II: Bannerlord, the testing process is paramount in ensuring that the many different features and systems, that more often than not are intertwined and dependant on each other, work as intended to provide players with a fun and enjoyable experience. In this week’s blog, we talk with one of the people responsible for making sure that the game meets the standards that both we and our players expect, QA Tester, Onurcan Dönmez.

[/parsehtml]Read more at: http://www.taleworlds.com/en/Games/Bannerlord/Blog/110

It's 2019 and Yaga still talks about trees, cmon taleworlds pay attention

No offense, Yaga. I actually admire your expertise, I don't even know which tree is what

Not for the first time I notice strangeness - why do all people have the same faces?
blog_post_90_taleworldswebsite_02.jpg
Well, they're not exactly the same, but they are very, very similar, yes. Maybe the distance takes away most of the details, and their skin is exactly the same colour, so it looks even more similar? Beards look different, though. But I think it's the noses. They all have the same kind of nose. Is this Alabama? Curious, most curious...

And about vegetation.
Judging by the trees, this is a battle in an apple orchard (without apples), with a lonely standing pyramidal poplar in the distance.
But judging by the grass, rather, it is a wetland...

I have no idea. The grass is cool and all, but really doesn't quite fit the pastures from where those trees should be.

It often has somewhat tall and wild grass, and sporadic tree 'placement'

Here we call them the "Pampas" (singular "Pampa"), which are vast stretches of coxilha terrain. It usually has very tall grass and often has some trees here and there, like the Bannerlord picture, but the grass is very different.

Trees are not that close, yes, but close enough, and wild grown grass looks very different from the overgrowth in the devblog picture.
For reference: these are random pictures I found on google. I very rarely took any pictures there, and I only have a crappy samsung cellphone.
I'm very, very far from a tree expert, like Yaga is, but that grass looks awfully misplaced. It looks cool, I'll grant TW that, but it looks very much like a Total War cenario from the latest games when you zoom in very close. That kind of grass is not typical of firm land and grass. I know I gave examples from a whole different continent, but vegetation isn't THAT much different from similar climates (and the examples I gave are from places of similar climate as mediterranean europe and turkey).

Ok, I'll admit it, I know nothing of vegetation, I just wanted an excuse to show you guys the place where I live. But I am correct in assuming that grass is not fitting!

I am not complaining about Bannerlord, nor crucifying the devs, I just thought that grass was a bit strange.

Tchê.

How can no one in the company like the Empire when you are located at the very place the Byzantines once called home? Disgraceful.

You all prefer those murderous horse archer cowards don't you!
I also felt very disappointed when i read that. Shame on you Taleworlds.
I can't second this enough. SHAMEFUR DISPURAY, TaleWorlds. SHAMEFUR. You're all tree-hugging battanians, or horse-worshipping khuzaits! This is unacceptable!

When are we going to have a developers' blog featuring an interview with the janitor of Taleworlds office? :shifty:

You should read my developer blog first.

Greetings warriors of Calradia !

My name is KhergitLancer99.

OFFICIAL JOB DESCRIBTION

I am a whiner commenter of devBlogs.

WHAT DO YOU NORMALLY DO IN YOUR DAY ?

I usually start my day writing edgy **** about how there isnt still a release date of this game.

WHAT DO YOU LIKE THE MOST ABOUT BANNERLORD ?

I like how they still ignore all we raging fans for 7 years.

WHAT'S THE MOST DIFFICULT THING THAT YOU SOLVED SO FAR, DURING THE PRODUCTION OF BANNERLORD?

Once there was a very commited fanboi who was trying to convince us to stop whining. Making him piss off was the most difficult thing probably.

WHAT DO YOU CURRENTLY WORK ON?

I am currently trying to convince taleworlds forum moderators to unban my forum account.

WHAT FACTION DO YOU LIKE THE MOST IN BANNERLORD?

Callumia: The faction of good hearted people who patiently tell us every week that the wait will worth it.

This has more information than most of the devblogs. Not a hard thing to do but im still impressed by it.

mridhomm11, I'm not offended.
And I also would like to know what kind of strange trees TW creates and why they stubbornly don’t want to make ordinary trees that surround us in life.

In any case we need to be very cautious about the writing of the game. After all, if they can't get their ordinary trees right how can we trust their dialogue trees will be correctly rooted?

There isn't much to say about this blog : if so why I am wasting time visiting the forum ?

Two reasons :
1. Terco_Viejo
2. Yaga

Thank you very much for your efforts bringing confort to these desolated lands

Oh! Thank you, mate. As far as I'm concerned, if I have contributed through my grain of sand (salt, spicy and humor in equal parts) to sketch some smile on more than one of you, I'm already satisfied

Will tomorrow's blog be an indigestible meal with re-cooked information we already knew about, or maybe we'll starve to find nothing substantial, or maybe Taleworlds will provide us with a brand new juicy haute cuisine theme?

I start by topping with a little salt. :iamamoron:
