Players must be able to interact with and respond to what their teammates and opponents are doing at that very instant in order to succeed. And before we proceed, no, we aren’t talking about VoIP or text chat (although those can be important too!). A dropped packet, an increase in latency or a high ping could be the key factor which results in defeat...

[/parsehtml]Read more at: http://www.taleworlds.com/en/Games/Bannerlord/Blog/38

now I am curious if TW will create a gamey tournament system (similar to suggestions in this thread), or try to follow a more closely related historical setting from the 6-10th century. And make a diverse system with each faction/culture doing their own thingy. On different scales (Empire having big events, Battania smaller ones, etc).

IMO: keep the lore consistent and the low-fantasy setting + historical inspiration. Mods can create crazy add-ons like jousting tournaments and whatnots.

I think tournaments historically speaking weren't a thing back then, but they are an important part of Mount & Blade in my opinion. As M&B is set in a fictional world anyways why not have some tournaments? I understand your point on jousting though. It's a bit too high medieval for that setting.

I am not going to pretend to be a expert on tournaments , but I am sure they can find plenty of interesting examples. The empire, as is based on Byzantium Empire (6-10th century), which was a part of the Roman Empire and based on Greece, could have several types of sports (gladiators, horse/chariot racing, athletics, etc). The Vlandia, being based on later Normans (10-12th century), could have more traditional MB arena. And so on.

Like I said I am just curious to see what they will come up with .

This game is set historically from around the time of the dark ages up to 12th century so no, tournaments would not have been a thing then.

But really does it matter so much? They were an important thing in Warband and I wouldn't like to see them cut out a cool feature. Also the historical timeline in Warband was more than a little fishy, like they had vikings from the dark ages mixed in with Saracans from the Crusades and Italians from the high middle ages. I'm sure Bannerlord will be equally ambiguous.

None of the factions in Warband has an historical equivalent. Some of the warband factions were inspired by historical groups but others came entirely from the minds of the developers. I'm fairly confident this will continue with Bannerlord.

Hello all warrior's i have only one questions! Can be Bannerlord available only on PC or we can play on PS4&XBOX??

DeV nice work,i love this game
They've said they're going to release it for PC first, and possibly later for consoles.

I think it's reasonable idea. They work hard on this game 5 years.on PC devotr fans buy this game, but some people wait a download free  ;( on consol you must buy this game. For me is Bannerlord Game of the year 20**( 2018 mayby   and it would be a big shame if it does not use its potential.
More people and me too buy this game on Super ultra deluxe edition for consol edition and be very happy.TW(Warband) Bannerlord is not only game. It's a life style  sorry with my English TW and DeVs Please give us a Christmas present

new forms of getting easy money for a low level character? Like the criminal organizations you can setup on towns?

No need to repeat a feature just to keep a easy exploit. We can always get new exploits to use

Tournaments would be interesting if the game had a good wound-system and strong dueling AI for nobility and/or unique tournament participants. No risk, no fun.

I would be glad to see them ingame even without that, though, since it makes it easier for modders to provide an enhanced tournament experience.

Even if the game would try to be historically accurate - which is not the case - tournaments were definitely present since the Romans and probably even before. So I don't see any problem with it.
I am actually inclined to believe the western European jousts are pretty much a revival of the Hippikka Gymnasia during the Pax Romana.

Developers slacking off instead of finishing the game...

Gold. After checking the Bannerlord's Steam forums today, this cheered me up a bit. (Don't go there, it's like the fifth circle of Hell)

I always have a good laugh when reading through the Steam forums tbh.

My favorite from the steam forum is "NO EATING TILL BANNERLORD COMES OUT" hillarious. also I very much agree, thank you for keeping the taleworlds forums insulated from the typical internet spamming and negativity!

Not the guy who was willing to sacrifice and make himself a martyr for the cause of "release bannerlord". Seriously one of these days TaleWorlds Entertainment's headquarters will be under siege from an angry mob of Bannerlord enthusiasts demanding its release

I still want a blog related to what kinds of things Taleworlds eats in their office some day. Besides for the outdoor feasting
