In order to slow the massive smithing exploit, smithing should be tied to infrastructure you have to have purchased.

If you want smith a tier 1 weapon, you can use a local smiths forge once every few days.

If you purchase a smith, you can forge tier 1 all day.

To forge higher tier items should require increasingly expensive additions to your smithy to create. Idk what, from a lore perspective. Bigger bellows, water access, a city permit, or something.

This would limit weapon spamming in 2 forms. First, it would localize production. So players would not be able to just constantly roll across the map selling high priced weapons, buying and smelting all the weapons in a town and repeating this cycle.

Secondly, players would not be able to develop smithing skill as fast. They’d have to incrementally upgrade their blacksmith before being able to attempt making the next tier weapon, so they wouldn’t be able to fail-spam tier 5 weapons and buff their smithing over night.

This is to properly gate off end-game wealth and content. The blacksmith upgrades should cost a substantial amount to purchase.
I know someone will say “Well if you’re already rich then you could just buy all upgrades at once.”
And this is true. However I would say that if you can already save up 300K-500K denars you’re already at end-game and should be able to explore smithing at an accelerated pace.Making a few 100K more from some swords would not make a difference.
