Upgrade for the Elite Ranger, by the way, of which I've yet to figure out how to increase upkeep costs! With a standard 'hunter' horse, and sans spears/half spears, so it can't double as charge cavalry of doom.

Aid to my heavily out numbered swadian allies against the Rhodoks (even with my neutral faction help, the odds were still 1:3, we won, but barely)

Upkeep is based on the the character/units level. It can have prof at 400 and all skills at 10 but if it says that the level is 2, it will have like 5 gold Upkeep and if you put it in auto battle or just walk around the map normally it will be attacked like its a level 2 troop instead of say lvl 30 or 40

You have the same texture bug on shields that I have. Is there any possibility of fixing it yourself?

I suppose those orange-red shield textures aren't meant to look this way, or do they?

Take a look at the Shield Maiden in the left of the picture.

No, it's a bug. There's one with a khergit buckler too (sort of white).
