Did you copy the native folder and then install the mod?

Who gives a crap if they're stolen or not, even?
Giving away commercial products for free without the permission of the creator is illegal.
Its his problem, not ours for downloading his work.
So you support the thievery of other peoples property, on which they worked many hours?

I see no reason why they should control who gets to use it and who doesn't.

just thought i'd point it out, if this is a warband mod shouldn't it be in the canvasari (sp?)?

looks awesome man, wish i could help, but unfortunately as far as code goes i can barely do "hello world!", and as far as modeling goes.... well...... i spend most of my time on a mac....... probably hard to convert mac models to a PC game, plus i have no experience at all. good luck!

and as far as borrowing models from other games.... this is a mod for an indie game, at very most it'l get like what, 10,000 downloads (no offense)? And it's not like anyone will say "wow, this mod is awesome, now i'm not gunna buy fallout 3." Even if they were, i'm pretty sure those dudes have enough money

Come on guys, give him the benefit of the doubt. If he says he didn't steal them, believe him. He'll only be in more trouble if he actually did and lied about it.

The bolts on the sniper rifle match up exactly with the bolts on his sniper rifle.

The pistol's grip is depressed in exactly the same spots.

The red button in the middle is in exactly the same spot.

I could pick out small details for every weapon on there. The only explanation is that they're all ripped from Halo 1.

no i honestly didnt use any official halo items (btw u dont rig weapons) and afaik the halo meshes are inaccessible

It's the opposite actually - the meshes are extremely accessable to anybody with Halo 1 for the PC...

well back when we modeled them they were for fallout 3 (better graphically) so we spent ages working them, that's why they are so perfect but we never used the halo meshes, and theres the small fact i only have the halos on xbox

So you're saying that since it's better graphically than Halo 1, every vertice and every pixel is exactly the same?

E: Just looked at the vehicles. Wow, the scorpion is such a blatant rip.

No offence, but a lot of the time, when a mod is made for a game like fallout, which can handle better details, the modders will try to get every detail right and beyond. And also, just because something is there for the taking, doesn't mean that people will take it (in respect to the meshes). I've seen the Fallout 3: Blood Raven armour and it's better then any space marine armour in ANY licensed game. They did not rip the model, or the textures (as far as I know). If I recall they made it all from scratch. I may be wrong, but that's beside the point. The point is is that just because something looks so close to the original in many facets, does not mean that it is a 'blatant rip'. So give the guy a break. He knows what he would be in for if he did rip them, but I doubt that he did.

I think this mod is legit, the models are not official and that this game will not have trouble on these grounds.

Support the game and the modder. Don't comment if you have nothing consructive to say, rather than just attacking the modder.

Emperor Milton

P.S. Here I am defending a guy who is making a mod about Halo when I don't even really like Halo. Played it (1&2), but still not truly a fan of it.

Ok, downloaded it, followed instructions to the letter, it starts up, host a game and...... it crashes. I am not sure what is wrong. Once the match starts I'll either have the wrong armour, two kills, or two seconds of life, before it crashes.

Help?

NVM, It's all good now.

The only thing I can say to this mod is... Lower the poly count of the items, seriously, laggs like hell with 20vs20 when I can normaly handle 150v150 fine.

They should be made from scratch instead of using imported models

well thanks guys and yeah the poly do need dropping but as i have previously said there not m%b friendly, as far as lag goes the lowest framerates ive got on mine are about 33pfs and thats in a 10v10 match at max settings and 1080p res

on a side note development of this is going to slow down as im in year 12 this year and im doing specialist, methods, it, english and physics, so i dont really have a lot of time

Just found this mod now and had to sign up and post ITT. I've just finished The Fall of Reach book and am way keen on Halo at the moment so I'd be so much more than happy to do whatever I can to help the progression of this mod. I have barely any experience with modding but seriously, I want this mod to be successful.

After reading the thread, I'd like to say in regard to this whole stealing/ripping/copying/whatever argument that the creators of Halo (Bungie) would probably love the mod and love to see other peoples work being inspired from their own. They supported Rooster Teeth and they were making a series out of their game. Bungie also worked hard on their forge mode for the sake of having an awesome creative community where people could make amazing things from/within their own creation.

Basically, Bungie loves people doing creative stuff with their work and the guy isn't even gaining profit from the mod so why does it matter? They won't ruthlessly attack him over the theft of a couple skins (provided the peoples claims that they were stolen are even true) before serving justice to those who put the Halo games on the net for free.

Even if it's against the site policy, I think this mod has too much potential to be canned and plenty of people will enjoy it.  He put it up here for you guys to enjoy so stop criticizing his hard work especially if you've given nothing to the modding community.
