Apparently DrTomas has fun mking this game, otherwise he would have stopped developing, never mind what the others think of it. And creating the most popular single player mod for a game with a relatively (!) big community (times where M&B was an insider's tip are gone long ago) is surely something you can put into any application for any job in the gaming industry. So if DrTomas plans on reducing the amount of his jobs from 2 to 1, but still getting paid, this is the way to go

for all the work that gets done i still think a paypal account should be set up and anyone who wont's to at anything in to show there appreciation for all the work this guy dose for us or something

Thanks. If I weren't making mods, I would probably making some other software. Perhaps some indie game of my own. In space! 4X genre one! I actualy almost started something like that a year ago, but othr then: "HEY, here's the source for 1257ad!".
Opening a public donation is not politicly correct, as I'm not the only person that worked(s) on the mod(Tho extra income, even a relatively small one, would help out with my expensive lifestyle). Kuauik, othr, Sahran, UghUghUgh and many others that would deserve a cut of the donations. And I reckon it wouldin't be that much after the split up.

ok sure... but the paypal account is only for the services provided and not for the mod itself... like we wanna reward u for the excellent almost 24/7 service... really... u beat even dell man.... ur always fixing and updating and responding to all questions

Short of donations, I think you'd have no trouble going the expansion route with this game like the Napoleanic one recently. If I'm not mistaken, that started out as a mod and is now a stand-alone game being sold? 1257 would be the most epic example of that kind of thing methinks. Just so expansive and awesome and great ideas and graphics and work everywhere. I know I'd support it.

People want multiplayer-games these days. This is why 1257 will remain a open-source-mod, i guess.
I just updated to latest revision, and was looking forward to this new feature, where the player takes control over a trooper in case he dies.
Is this feature now called "player auxiliary"-feature??
If so, i checked the box in the camp-menu, but it doesnt seem to work.
I died, but couldnt control any troop.
No companions, no latin/euro mercenaries, no european soldiers...
What's wrong?
Do i have to press a special button?
