Mal'lor finished equiping the sealed environmental suit require for piloting his Basilisk in the vacum of space, shortly after the other Sith departed and the first wave of Mandalorians launched. The Basilisk is normally more suited for planetary/sub-orbital combat, due to the exposure of the pilot and the attached risks, but for a wielder of the Force, the openess in space gives way to...unique opportunities. After storing a few mines, his swords, and a few 'Mandalorian essentials', Dan'el lead the charge in the second wave of the assault.
The battle was in the Republics' favor when Dan'el entered the fight, but his very presence altered the course of combat. With his connection to the force, Mal'lor could influence his men in ways impossible to the common commander, make them faster, more alert, and above all, deadlier. With Mal'lor in the fray, the Sith and Mandalorian pilots began to outmaneuver the Republic fighters, with quicker reactions, precise marksmanship, and deadly tactics.
Mal'lors' Basilisk is an intimidating vessel by any means, and drew the attention of a dozen Republic fighters as soon as he made his entrance. He took out the mines, and moved them towards the incoming fighters. Normally, seasoned pilots like these wouldn't fall victim to mid-fight mines, given the advances in sensor technology, but that only applies to live mines. Mal'lor guided the mines using his powers, and when the fighters made there way towards him, he triggered the mines remotely hitting several of the fighters in the crossfire.
Only four of the fighters survived the blast, but they were crippled at best. Mal'lor moved in for the kill, allowing the Basilisk to attack all out. The Basilisk fired a laser at one of the fighters, taking it out immediately. Mal'lor let go of the Basilisk and went towards one of the fighters, which was dead in the water with no power. Once he landed on the fighters hull, he brought out his sword, and placed it at the base of the cockpit door. The pilot tried to equip his rebreather as Mal'lor attempted to pry open the cockpit, but Mal'lor proved the quicker, as the cockpit came swinging open and the pilot twisted and gasped in his chair. Mal'lor swiftly thrust the blade through the man, and turned towards his Basilisk. It had already destroyed the last two fighters, with a malicious attack alternating between laser fire and brute force, finished by the War Droid slaming the two wrecks together until they were nothing but scrap metal.
As the Basilisk returned to Mal'lor, he recieved a transmission from one of the fighters.
Sir, we are getting a distress signal from an unidentified vessel, it appears to be a freighter of some sort.
"Two of you, attach grappling cables to the freighter, and carry it towards the Iniquitous. have them take it in with the tractor beam and hold it in the hangar until the current situation is resolved. After that, return as fast as possible"
After Mal'lors' initial shock and awe assault, the battle quickly changed pace, putting the remaining Republic fighters in a moment of panic, a moment the the Mandalorians' capitalized on. The assault squads let loose a barrage of laser fire and torpedos, shattering the Republic forces and forcing the remaining fighters back towards the Preserver, under the protection of the flagships' defense turrets. Dan'el order the men to fall back and regroup, no point in charging in blindly. He had done more than enough out here, now was the time to regroup with his master and take the fight to the Jedi.
He had them men form a net around the Preserver, making sure that no escape pods could leave the approaching slaughter, and began his approach. Turret blasts are inconsequential to a Basilisks' armor, since they are made to fight against heavy fire, and did little to stop Mal'lors' charge straight into the hangar, taking out a fighter as it was about to take off. After a few moments of fear, the Republic soldiers began to fire against the Sith Lord. He left the War Droid to wreck havoc in the hangar bay and protect the masters' ship, as Mal'lor himself marched forward to rejoin the other Sith.
"Iniquitous, send a boarding crew to the Preserver, we need this ship taken swiftly. The quicker it is done, the less the Republic knows of us.
