Revolvers.

Revolvers ruin the game. Impossible to go into a melee without being shot at by 5 revolvers at the same time. You should give only revolvers to a specialist regiment called Revolver units with max cap of 3 or so, or just remove it from the game. I have played in 4 different servers now, and everytime, I was shot to oblivion by revolvers.

i infact like the revovlers and i can dodge them no problem, if you have a problem dont play this mod.
 
i think the accuracy should be nerfed but in all the pub servers theres always a ton of people going revolver spam.

it gets quite frustrating to be hit from a far distance by a revolver lol

maybe accuracy, i could maybe see that as a viable option
 
They are fine in public play too. Infantry use rifle which is accuracy like... like rifle so only thing is not let enemy with colt come close, when you aren't in cover. (let enemy get close is your fault, stay without cover is your fault, get killed by revolver is your fault)
 
There will be definatly a change for the revolvers!

In which way, we will tell you later. But I dont like them in their current function..
 
Personally I don't have a problem with them, yes it can be 'slightly' frustrating when you have a rifle and face a guy who can fire six shots after his first, but they only spawn with 12 shots, after that they either have to loot a corpse, grab a rifle, or stick to a sword.

I think North and South rewards musket infantry for their use of range though, and rest assured, it doesn't matter if you've got 6 guys with revolvers charging at you, if you have 6 guys with rifles at range, then they will wipe out those pistol users.  :wink:
 
As of now, most, if not all complaints are dealing with pubbing. As is, the game is not pub friendly at all (read: oh god why did I come here!?). The linebattles however are generally pretty well balanced.  A lot more shooting now.

In LBs or skirmish battles they're okay. A bit bullet spam (I suggest decreasing aiming speed) but not that op like in TDM. 75% of players in tdm play with officer/pistol. A bit annoying.
 
Well, we could nerf the revolver in different way:

1) Giving them just the 6 bullets in the revolver =(The revolver was loaded before the battle and not much reloaded during the fight)
2) Giving them 18 bullets, but lower the damage by 50 %
3) Slower reloading, between 30-40 seconds.
4) Mix of 2) and 3), but adding supply crates to refill the ammo at spawn.

It's kind of hard here because the way the revolvers are right now is historically accurate. The one thing you could probably do is make them slower to reload, especially at the time of 1861. An officer not only had to drop a round into each chamber but he also had to ram them in using the lever-rammer below the barrel. He THEN had to place a percussion cap on the cone of each chamber.

As has been noted before most officers would use their six shots if they fired their pistol at all.

The one thing I would not do is reduce accuracy. It is noted:

Remington percussion revolvers are very accurate, and capable of considerable power with muzzle velocities in the range of 550 to 1286+ feet-per-second, depending upon the charge loaded by the shooter. Combustible cartridge velocities averaged from 700 to 900 feet per second (270 m/s), depending on powder quality, charge and conical bullet weight.

Maybe nerf the reload but don't change the revolvers. THere is a reason why the Civil War produced so many casualties, the weapons were ahead of the tactics. It's interesting as gamers we're experiencing some of the same problems the men of the 1860's are as well.
 
Slightly off topic but I loved seeing this topic "The blue confederates need to be taken out. It's too confusing." It was in 1861 too, quite a few times regiments that were poorly drilled fired on each other because of the confusion.

If you tked because of this...it's historically accurate :lol:. Not advocating tking of course.
