That... is awesome!

I'm planning on starting reenacting a Feldheer Kompanie based on the Eastern Front in WW2. I already have the gear, it's just to drive three hours 6 times a year  and get involved with the organisation

3 hrs isn't too much. Our events are about 2-9 hrs far and sometimes abroad (I really hate polish roads and our main 'highway'- worst roads in central Europe)

42nd Virginia (Civil War)
Confederate States

72nd New York Volunteer Infantry (civil War)
United States
(for when I feel like screwing with my buddies in the other camp xD)

Ouch. Sounds like Poland needs an Autobahn style system  I suppose 3 hours isn't too bad.

Came back yesterday from Paris. Imperial Jubilee of Napoleon and Joséphine: 200 reenactors, thousands of visitors, free entrance into Malmaison and the Château de Bois Préau, Imperial market (weapons, uniforms, gadgets,...). Mark Schneider as Napoleon, he really is the Emperor!

Bought my French grenadier shako (pompon, cords, plate, chinscales,... see pictures) for €150! Only have to adjust it to my head (it's slighty too big right now). Would filling the shako up with cloth/paper do the trick, or do I have to adjust the size inside with a leather strip of sorts (need reenactor tips on this)?

Warning, large pictures ahead!!!

Yesterday I had my first reenacment event, in fact it was not really a event, we were just actors in a presentation about napoleon and the bavarian General Wrede.

A picture of me in the uniform of a bavarian fusilier ( 13.bavarian infantry )

btw. Is there someone who goes to Leipzig next year for the 200th anniversary?

I am going to Leipzig.

I might be going to Leipzig. Would have to go along with another regiment though, as the 3eme isn't going.

If anyone wants to be in the majority of the french action at Leipzig then the 21e is taking volunteers. We will be in the 1st Corps

Leipzig, probably as visitor. Hoping to go!

Any tips for my shako?
