So basically rename the factions?
And yes I believe they fought on foot too, but I want a mounted unit for the greeks, so it will have to do.
For the sake of accuracy, yes.
Would give the mod something special and be nice to see
. Again what do you imagine the Greek faction being, as an real faction? Seeing it has Spartan Hoplites.
You could make an light cavalry unit. Just an Hippeis. It would be weaker then cavalry of most other factions but would still fullfill its roll as an cavalry unit. Could also be given javelins to harass etc. Having an heavy cavalry unit for Greek city states isn't really accurate as far as I know.
Edit:
Actually I think you should devide the Greek Cities (If your going to keep them named that way) to two factions: Macedon and Greek Cities. Reason for this being it would be slightly more accurate, as having Pikemen fightign with Spartan Hoplites isn't that accurate. And those pikeman EB shows are only available much later in the game when some Greek Cities adapt but thats really long time off.
This would allow unit makeup like:
Macedon:
Peltasts, Hoplites, Pikeman, Companion Cavalry (elite).
Greek Cities:
Peltasts, Hoplites, Spartan Hoplites (elite), Hippeis.
Its nice thought up system of you:
Ranged Unit. Normal Unit. Heavy Unit. Cavalry.
And then among those having one Elite unit. Companion Cavalry for Macedon, Spartan Hoplites for Greek Cities.
