Do you think some light will be shed on this lore/backstory of the game this weekend? I`m excited to see what they've prepared for us in this 40 minute demo.

Of course, but TW said that the ancestors of the Warband factions WILL be invading tribes in Bannerlord. So we either have Nords or Vaegir whose ancestors are not in BL. Not a clue at the moment by me. Would be cool to have some TW explanation.
Ah, okay. I don't think that I read that before.  Anyway, it's too hard to make proper guesses when we have so little information and lore that wasn't really fully written.

I hope they do.  Personally,  I would like to see some more battle footage, as we have only gotten a few small clips of it as well as more information about this:

Q2: Can you tell us more about the map?
A2: They had a tester named Meriç NEŞELİ , his days are passing by testing the game . They put me on 1v1 with him but I told him to stop and we travelled the map .First, for example do you remember Witcher III had a trailer where there were butterflies flying , kids playing , Enviroment was full of stuff  but they could not manage to get that feeling in the actual game. However I kind of felt it in the Bannerlord and it was just a multiplayer map. There was a dungeon below the map and like that there are other levels of the map.You have to be aware of the enviroment when playing the game.

I want to say at this point that TW Officials wrote that Sturgians are the 'Viking' faction. So i am not sure what is going on here. Nords were obviously the viking faction in WB.

My impression is that whereas Nords are based off of the Scandinavians the Sturgians will be based off Germanic tribes like the Saxons (or possibly the Visigoths judging by the lamellar).

Possibly there will be an event in the story about the arrival of the Nords in calradia? The time period is perfect for it, although I myself am a little sick of being inundated with Viking things.

I think that statement by TaleWorlds, and the one about the Warband factions having their invading ancestors in Bannerlord, are to be taken with a small pinch of salt. I think they are broadly correct but not to be taken too strictly; they sound like statements made to convey the gist of the setting to a wide audience rather than to be understood as specific details. The Sturgians can be seen as a Viking or Scandinavian like faction, specialising in infantry using axes and swords and coming from the north, but they clearly have Slavic characteristics too. The Sturgians are broadly speaking a Viking faction, but they are not carbon copies of Vikings or the Nords of the first game. There were Swedish Vikings that went to what became Russia, and they melded with the Slavic population; perhaps if one needs to have a Viking template to point to as the inspiration for the Sturgians, they could be it.

Maybe the Sturgians or some of their tribes are the ancestors of the Nords or Vaegirs, or perhaps some tribes contribute to the Vaegir ancestry and some to the Nords, and perhaps these two branches meld with tribes from the Battanians or Khuzaits (for example) as well. Or the Sturgians and Battanians might not contribute anything to the lineage or culture of the Warband factions. We don't know, but I think the factions are all different to their later counterparts, and that is just natural; whether whole factions are the predecessors of the Warband dynasties or just some of their tribes, they are all going to be different in some ways.

Also the comment about the invading tribes might not apply to all of the factions, since as many people have pointed out the Nords are supposed to have invaded when the Vaegirs were already settled in Calradia. This all goes to show that the current lore, meagre as it is, probably shouldn't be taken as set too firmly in stone, nor should we understand vague outlining statements about the game as more than they are.

This might be the case, very dissapointed if Sturgians are not Nord-based but Slav-based. The info about 'Invading tribes' were on an article, so I would say that it was a rather serious statement. Time will tell, after all.

Maybe there will be an event but I doubt it. I, on the other hand, I am sick and tired of Knights. Each to their own though, I always call Knights pieces of junk for their ugly as hell armor, but people have different tastes.  I think TW is going way too far away from the lore we know on Warband, I don't know about anyone else, but I'd rather have things expanded when it comes to knowledge on the already established factions rather than having all new ones, like Battanians (who look cool as hell by the way).

Edit: Official info says ''who colonized the forests of the north and specialize in axe- and sword-armed footmen.'' For Sturgians. So what exactly is their place of settle? Do we have any counter-arguement based on official info that they inhabit the snow-part of the northern calradia?

As it says, the north, and the screenshot from blog 12 reinforces this- the Vlandians have Praven in the foreground, and looking east we can see the Sturgian towns in the distance roughly where the Nords are in Warband. I don't see what the contradiction is there. We can't say exactly what part of the map they inhabit beyond saying the north, because we haven't seen an overview of the map yet, which has been expanded from Warband.

Judging by how good Nord infantry is, I'm guessing they arrived about a week before the start of Warband, that's about how long it would take them to capture the northern coast.

Exactly what I base my opinion on. This picture shows us that the current Nord settlements are inhabited by Sturgians and the Vaegir settlements are inhabited by Battanians. The map is very changed though.

Don't know if this was asked already or not, but is there any information about banditry? It would be quite interesting to be able to make your own bandit camps, hire other people, maybe team up with other bandit organisations.

There will be small independant micro-factions-bandits like the Jomsvikings. In the video of the timelapse we see a black-lettered settlement behind a mountain. It's quite possibly the bandits on Bannerlord will behave like brotherhoods from Prophecy of Pendor mod.

That is now what i asked, like is there any information about if its possible to maybe make your own bandit faction?

You can do that in Warband too, a bandit faction is just an evil faction, raiders, selling to bandit camps to empower them etc. Not sure what you ask here.

It would be nice if there were guilds (thieves and merchants) that you could be part of to do quests and rise in rank. Also I really hope you can be a freelancer and join lords armies, that is one of the best mods of all time that is huge for immersion.
