Hello,

I am creating a mod set during the Hundred Years War for Warband. I need help creating clothing for the nobility, making the battles larger, adding new items for foreign mercenaries, and redoing the interiors of castles/taverns. I will not only pay but will also send a version of my mod for free. It has already been heavily edited to be historically accurate for 1420s France. Please contact me on this forum, or at [email protected]

Thanks!

No no, its not, I really will pay. Deeds of arms and chivalry has a lot of issues man, still in development, not very accurate yet. Until then, which could be years, I will use this mod

Plus you will get the mod as well, but please do not share it, the people who have helped me so far have not given their permission. They made various new models that I paid good money for. Also can you actually help? Telling me it sounds sketchy doesn't achieve much, please just say yes or no

Dear Agincourt,

if you allow, I will share with you a handful of tips and pieces of advice.

Firstly, there are already mods set during the Hundred Years War, like Deeds of Arms and Chivalry or 1429: The Hundred Years War. The latter is and OSP and its assets and source can be freely used by you (the permission: https://forums.taleworlds.com/index.php?threads/1429-the-hundred-years-war.316764/post-7579902). You may take a look at main thread of the mod (https://forums.taleworlds.com/index.php?threads/1429-the-hundred-years-war.316764/) or main thread of its submod (https://forums.taleworlds.com/index...s-la-relance-hundred-years-war-submod.373552/).

Secondly, you may use non-OSP/ LSP assets for your mod for personal use, that is, without sharing them with others. As long as they are only for your gameplay, you may use whatever you have access to. This applies to items from commercial games/ projects/ non-commercial mods as well. No one is going to go after you if you take some assets for your personal entertainment.

Thirdly, be careful with sharing your workplace/ college mail address in the Internet (in general). This applies to all websites.

Fourthly, you may try browsing through OSP/ LSP mods (https://forums.taleworlds.com/index.php?threads/list-osp-lsp-modifications.377920/) or The Forge (https://forums.taleworlds.com/index.php?forums/the-forge-mod-development.64/) in order to find items suitable for your mod. Clothing, battle enhancement, new items for NPCs and custom scenes should already be in there.

Fifthly, in general - in my opinion - it is not worth it to offer money for basic help with modding; people are very greedy sometimes and might want to extort the cash from a person. They might try to take advantage of one's lack knowledge of modding and demand money in exchange for really simple and straightforward tasks. No pointing at anyone here.

Sixthly, mods are supposed to be free; it is a standard. They are not supposed to be a valuable commodity kept in safe hands. Making mods is more of a service to the community.
I will not only pay but will also send a version of my mod for free.

Seventhly, it is easier to complete/ patch out a mod already in existence rather than starting afresh.

Also, you may try to find someone to work on your mod. Chances are low someone will help you when your mod is only for your personal use and enjoyment. The best way is to rely on oneself and do things by oneself (paired with asking questions if needed). Some people might help you out completely for free and out of goodwill. Your thread can only attract greedy people, because no one will hop on to your project knowing that little information about it.

Existing mods from Warband which continue in Bannerlord get far more followers than new projects. Warband has been thoroughly modded in the past decade and people have moved on to other games. Warband mods do not get that many followers nowadays. Mods with great publicity are mostly old and they are being revived and brought to Bannerlord. New mods for Warband will not get much of publicity now. Take a look at TW Modding Discord server and this Modding section. You will see that Bannerlord is bustling with modder activity and Warband has gone dead.

Moreover, it is hard to start a project from scratch by oneself. Usually, mods are started by a group of friends who have met before. Try to be more specific with your announcement - tell whether your mod is SP or MP, what it is about, ask for particular specialists (scripters, sceners, modellers, texturers) and appeal to a broader audience with detailed description. This paragraph applies to starting a mod afresh in general.
