Then you're doing it wrong. If I actually had some arrows I'd go out and try it now, again, and take some pictures. Unfortunately, I just have a bow And I don't see how it could damage your bow at all. Getting them to fly well is about how you hold them. A single arrow would fly wild if you held it wrong as well, you just have to compensate a bit. I know the guy I borrowed the bow from couldn't do it at all, he was standing about 10 metres away from his target and they hit between 2 and 5 meters away on both sides. Was quite amusing to watch, he was utterly terrified.
