I've gotta say, I do love the new reward system for tournaments. Sometimes it's underwhelming (and the recent armour tweak that made the heavily armoured, expensive bear fur mantle suddenly just have the stats of a fur mantle is a prime example of that), but usually it's very cool, flavourful gear. A fine horse, a well-made sword with its own name... some great stuff. One of my companions is currently bearing a wonderful blade with a very dramatic-sounding Nordic name because of that.
Then during one tourney, my hardcore Battanian who favours two-handed weapons and a bow saw a delightfully shiny two-handed Highland blade as the prize. A blade named "Early Retirement".
It's a goofy name for a sword, but damned if I didn't laugh. It's become my character's favourite toy. Axe, lance, bow... all delightful. But nothing matches giving opponents a taste of Early Retirement.
