I can only assume someone has already posted about this, but I couldn't find anything solid via search, so there goes:
I think the game would benefit greatly from being able to tell your npc clansmen what you want to do with their parties, such as patrol an area, protect a settlement, stay where you are, raid a village, or even just follow the player without having to create an army.
Creating a party, giving it a bunch of your troops, and then watching the NPC go off to do a tournament on the other side of the map, while your fiefs are constantly harrased by enemy armies can be downright infuriating. Makes you feel like less of a commander and more of a shmuck, who just got conned out of half of his forces.
