Changing serial key.

I am running vista 64 home basic and I need to change the serial key with out reformatting the hard drive. I have tried uninstalling the game and doing a search for mount&blade and deleted every file that was found but still when I reinstalled it automatically used the wrong serial key.  I need to know where the date is being stored so I can remove it and reactivate the game with the correct serial key.

Open regedit and search for Mount&Blade Keys. Try removing it, should ask you to activate next time you launch the game.

I have  similar problem and went into the registry and deleted all the keys related to mount&blade then reinstalled the whole game... still cant reactivate it... am i doing something wrong?

Yes:
1) You necro'd.
2) You didn't describe your exact issue, ie error message.

Try manual activation, normal activation for M&B stopped working a while ago and I don't know if they ever fixed it.

Oh and you have to install from the current download version, retail M&B version can't be manually activated...
...which is further complicated because the Taleworlds download of M&B disappeared ages ago, so try one of the remaining working mirrors:
