Cant join any servers, no CD-key given through Steam?

I got the game gifted to me by a member of my regiment. However, the CD-key needed to join the servers hasnt shown up yet. Is this a common problem?

More specifically, it asks for a CD-key before I can join a server. In the DLC list for Warband, it is listed as "ValveTestApp48705" rather than what it's supposed to say (according to friend for whom it works without issues). Might be related to buying very early after release?

you have to go to your games library on steam, right click on game name and click "Show CD key" shows Warband and NW one there when you do it for WB.

Im still downloading, but I don't have a key show up when I do that. So I'm fearful.
