That link doesn't work in my browser.
That RGL is very similar to my successful launches.
This issue is odd.
If you can send a savegame I might be able to at least verify if it has something to do with your setup.
So this happens all the time in village and battle scenes.
What about town scenes?
 
I downloaded the mod from the V23 Nexus upload to an old laptop with poor graphics and another version of Warband.exe.
I'm not getting the errors you describe: battles and villages.
I will try the download file on my gaming computer when I get home.
I would try to verify the install and playability of other mods on your computer in the meantime.
 
I am not sure if this has been posted or noted but I get a weird error where the final enemy in a battle sometimes starts running at 200 miles and hour. Just sprinting unnaturally around the field.  It doesnt happen in all battles but seems to happen more when the enemy starts retreating.
 
Also one more thing I forgot to mention. Sometimes during battles (usually larger ones), my sound will cut out completely.  Even when I exit out of the game there is no sound for anything (music, computer sounds, youtube, etc.) I have to restart my computer to get sound back.  Any help with this fix would be appreciated. 
 
I hear reports of the flying banshee from time to time.
Until I track it down, I would wait for a minute then use the cheat buttons to kill it c-F4.
I have only noticed it during engagements outside of a town wall, but others claim to have seen it elsewhere.
The only way I can track it down is to isolate it to small set of missions or to have an opcode to tackle from your rgl_log.

I don't know about the sound settings.
I would go to control panel/sounds/disable and reenable the speaker you are having a problem with.
 
Hi, I installed brytenwalda 1.40 + patch from nexus and then reworked standalone 23d from nexus, when I start game it doesn't have game menu, please help.

When I checked french language when it loaded i got in main menu errors cannot find GUI widget <menu options> in gamevariables.txt

I chacked this file and it is nowhere to be found, should i just copy paste it from another mod?
 
1) There is a file called game variables that older versions of the game engine rely upon.
You can get it here: https://www.dropbox.com/s/ji9bxcg4cy257cg/game_variables.txt?dl=0
Put that in your mod folder and launch. Let us know what happens.

Do you use Steam? Do you know what version of mb_warband.exe you are using?

2) I haven't tried doing it that way with combining the two mods.
Why don't you start over and just use the Standalone?
It contains all you need.
There are 100 things that will cause the game_menu not to appear.
In particular there used to be a file called "game_variables"
 
i pasted menu variables and menu showed, however in game when i got simple cloth armor the armor penalty showed with all str skills and athletics so i had to disable that, and when after two battles when i sold spoils and wanted too leave city the game froze and i got colorfull sh*t with screen jumping from city menu to traveling map with great speed of changing. finally it crashed, but before that i saw some debug messages in white and red font.
 
I can help with debug messages like you saw at the end..
When you see them, always save the rgl_log.txt which is in the main directory "MountBlade".
It records all the errors.

I don't know why that is happening.
My guess is that you should start over and use just the Standalone.
It contains everything in 1.40.
However, some of the files and settings conflict since they have the same names.

Did you have try to start over with just the Standalone edition?
 
I'm having a problem where after about 45 in game days i get spammed with relation increases from a bunch of villages. Is this normal or how can i fix this?and for some reason Around day 40ish spies start spawning in villages and towns and they comeback when i retrieve them.
 
The first is your choice: You must have turned on the cheat menu in camp menu.
It's for developers  who need to see stuff like that.

#2 is a bug that I have now heard enough to have to figure something out.
I don't know where it comes from but will have to find a solution soon.
In the meantime, they don't cost you anything other than relation with certain kingdoms.
You can fix that temporarily by going to one of the noble ladies of a kingdom where you have a tournament with.

Mow I have an error as soon as I try to start from the launcher, I get the taleworlds screen then before the Brytenwalda loading screen I get the following error message popup:

Generic application error. Enable debug output for detailed information.

Switching to reference rasterizer, a software device that implements the entire Direct3D feature set, but runs very slowly.


I then get black screen (windowed, without it set in settings) and it crashes to desktop.

This happens with BW, native, and Napoleonic, I also tried With Fire and Sword and original M&B and they all crashed - I got them all in a package from Steam a few years back.

Initially, there was a pop up before the crash after the first one saying something about download DirectX SDK.

I did this, there was no noticable change except the second pop up stopped.

I dont know if it may be related, but I had a steam update install this morning, before this I had no problems with playing the game.

It seems to be a DirectX issue of some sort, Should I download Direct X 9 End time run user? I have been using DirectX 7 from the launcher as the performance is much better than DirectX 9, so not sure if this will make a difference.

Thanks for any suggestions or advice, I have tried to reduce all graphics settings and set single core in the launcher already and none of this has helped.
 
I wish I could help out with such a strange issue.
It sounds like a direct X issue: I would certainly not be using DX7 and try DX9.

Uninstall and reinstall the base game Mount and Blade and see if that works.
Try to use exactly the defaults that Steam gives you before adding on other software options.
Then add on the modules.

If you buy Viking conquest, you can get top of the line support at their bug forum.
 
Weird,

Not sure if it was just the updates to Direct x requiring a restart to kick in, but the problem disappeared.

I turned my PC back on yesterday evening and it was all good, either version of Direct x worked fine.
 
Hi I instlled the v24 standalone and then patch A and everthings fine about from this annoying bug.
The bug happened when I conquered a city ( revolted from my liege and started my kingdom) and needed to appoint a chancellor ( think that's the name mght be something else :sad: ) and I appointed one of my companions and I was about to get slaughtered by dumnonia so I wanted to send an emissary to offer myself as a vassal. The only problem was when I went up to talk . expecting loads of options to come up for that type of kingdom advisor guy , he kept asking if he could rejoin my party now.
I have tried this again on different saves , different towns , and even redownloaded the game but the bug keeps reoccurring. blood annoying as u can imagine I played on and without being able to send an emissary to the dumnonian king to make peace  I had a few (lets say 700) men outside wanting to enter the city and not for a beer and a catchup. As I had 76 men I thought it would be a good idea to leave it there, and ask for some help....

That's a bug. So you chancellor won't let you send an emissary?

Save the game and post the problem.
Tell us exactly what they are saying such as "Would you like to rejoin my party"
I need an exact quote to find where in the source code we have a missing comma or pointer.

Are you playing BW Reworked?
Issues like this are savegame compatible and this can be fixed mid-game.
