Do them separate, looks more like a signature and less like a Hollywood fake rune.

Also, you know that there is no preset direction for reading runes, and that their orientation establishes the reading direction. An artish signature would be fine with an inverted P.

It's not gonna look like a fake rune. It is actually two separate ones, but ASCII doesn't allow much artistry.
