In Progress [1.5.3] Quest "Caravan Ambush" rewards Stolen Goods

Hi,

after defending the caravan during the quest Caravan Ambush you get some resources from said caravan. This time I got the Stolen Goods crate from them. Is this intended and if yes, what can I do with it besides selling it for 1 denar?

EDIT:
By the way, from another Caravan Ambush quest I got Spice. Is this also intended as you can not buy it anywhere else?

Yes , I got Spice too , and another thing is 'trash item' never seen before.
