Hello everyone, I'm Shiroin from the TaleWorlds Community; also been the moderator of the Chinese section for years. I'm delighted to share with you that on February 14th, Mount&Blade II: Bannerlord was officially launched on the subscription services PC Game Pass and Xbox Game Pass. The Game Pass already has over 25 million subscribers, which is undoubtedly an encouragement for the whole Mount&Blade community. However, I have recently received feedback from players who mentioned that they are unable to launch or add mods to the Microsoft Store and Game Pass versions of Mount&Blade II: Bannerlord. The cause of these issues is basically that the Microsoft version of Bannerlord has added Xbox-related SDKs to support features such as Xbox Cloud Saves and Xbox Live, which resulted in slight differences in file structures compared to versions on platforms like Steam and Epic.

The discount is limited, and I would say the pricing in Europe is extraordinary.
Xbox has a huge user base in the United States but not Europe. Asia? Nope
Installing mods and modifying game saves require a significant amount of time and effort.
How to Install and Load Mods in Microsoft Store Version
Steps:
In the Desktop Xbox App, locate the icon for "Mount & Blade II: Bannerlord";
Right-click on the icon and select "Manage", then choose "Files" from the pop-up window and click "Browse";
This will automatically open the folder of the game;
Find your next favorite mods in modding communities. Download them to the Module directory under the main directory of Mount & Blade II: Bannerlord;
Next, locate to the folder "Bannerlord > Content > Module > [the name of the mod you just downloaded]";
Locate the folder named "Win64_Shipping_Client";
Rename the folder "Win64_Shipping_Client" to "Gaming.Desktop.x64_shipping_Client".
Download the Bannerlord Software Extender and follow the instructions to install this third-party mod launcher and its required dependencies. Run Bannerlord.BLSE.Launcher.exe or Bannerlord.BLSE.LauncherEx.exe and select the mods you wanna play.
If you only change the folder name without using the BSE launcher to start the game, you will encounter errors.
Not every mod can be loaded successfully without any errors.
How to modify the save files for Microsoft Version BL?
Open "File Explorer" in the Windows OS;
Click on the "View" option in the top menu bar;
In the "View" option, enable the checkbox for "File name extensions."
Then, open the following folder: C:\Users\YourUserName\AppData\Local\Packages\TaleWorldsEntertainment.MountBladeIIBannerlord_mk53pm3ay0384\SystemAppData\wgs
In this folder, you will see many folders, which is sucks. Manually edit the names of these folders and add ".sav" at the end.
Due to the feature of Xbox cloud saves, these folders contain fragmented files backed up at different time points. You need to keep trying and checking until you find the correct save file folder.
How to use Microsoft Store version saves for BL on other platforms like Steam?
Follow the steps mentioned above to locate the correct save file;
Open the ".sav" file you just found in any of the following tools: HxD, Hex Fiend, 010 Editor, wxMEdit (recommended, free and Open Source), in hexadecimal editing mode.
Delete the first 18 characters in the head, then click "Save."
Next, copy the save file to the "C:\Users\Username\Documents\Mount and Blade II Bannerlord\Game Saves\Native" directory, and you're all set.
