Towns serve as trade hubs and strongholds where you can socialise with the nobility, recruit companions or get quests. For Bannerlord, we spent a lot of effort on the town menus to make the experience as fun and immersive as possible.

[/parsehtml]Read more at: http://www.taleworlds.com/en/Games/Bannerlord/Blog/67

Would you mind explaining what all these symbols next to the name of the town mean?

Also isn't Syronea next to a lake?

I like the new interface. Many VC players had lag issues when using the scenic menu (old computer + ancient engine), hopefully Bannerlord transition from campaign to menu to campaign will not suffer from that.

those portraits tho, they dont fit a 2018 game. Is that the final design?

Probably an unpopular opinion but one thing i hate is names like 'Dasys the Angel' or 'Chaghan of the Spinning Wheel'. They always look so out of line with everyone else who has a normal name.

What do you mean?

My name is Spinning Wheel.

From the /r/mountandblade Discord server:

I assume that also includes the character portraits, though I could be wrong.

But do you still need to "find" the persons in the scenes before having them on the quick-menu? If not, that may have a negative impact on the exploration side of the game.

This is a nice change from the previous version.

Thanks for the blog.

You don't have to but you can. Look at top right.

if the map was altered ... it would be interesting to look at it

Good shortcuts for npcs in the city! Go to the backstreet option is the most eye catchy difference from WB.

For next blog, please tell us more about what can npcs commanders do in various situations. Because this is the most serious point in a sandbox game for npcs not being repetitive.

am i the only one disappointed in that settlement size, it looks smaller then the warband ones damn.

now you may argue that it's still in development, but towns being a major aspect in mount and blade with it's prequel only amounting to this size after years of development is pretty concerning

That's just an icon, it's abstracted. I think town size will be ok:

Sounds like good changes overall to me!

Nice blog, thank you!

Just a few things:

1. The blank for the city name should allow longer names for modding.

2. I'd really like to have a space to write a brief city description - that would help a lot if you want to improve the lore. Even if you'd have to read from the ingame wiki.

3. I assume it will be the same menu for villages?

I believe thats already in the game. Do you see the text box that says "This city's people are restless and the buildings are in poor repair"?

That can most likely be modded.

I'm not sure if you have misunderstood me or I misunderstand you.
