Astinus, as long as you are just, noone can stop you from refing.
yeah, but while still in the competition, I'd prefer to focus on just playing. But as I said, in case refrees would be badly needed, I will be up for the job

You know very well they are ALWAYS badly needed . I know it for sure.

What exactly does a referee do? Look for glitchers or regulate trash talk?

Since I'm one of the more experienced refs around, I can tell you that during all Warband Competitons there had been many disputes regarding matches. A referee, by being there, would resolve them on spot. If you're curious, check the other subboards of this board and you'll see that many battles that had no referee were continued on the forums, giving the organisers big headakes. Just by being there, these forum battles won't exist.
Also, a referee must be able to judge quickly unexpected problems and resolve them in the fairest (<--- is this a word?) mode possible. As main referee of ENPL I encountered many situations, from which there were two (i think) that required the oppinion of all referees (for example, when a match finished in a draw, we needed to find fast a solution).
Referees also have the responsability to set/check the server rules. In my oppinion, this was the main reason of after-match head-bashing. During ENPL I made it clear to the refs that this is the most important job (it's true that for safety reasons, the captains of the teams must also check the server rules and agree with them before the match starts).
There are many more small tasks that refs must do, but I won't write them down (basically regarding chat during matches, spectators, recording - which i wont be able to do for this NC -, organising etc).

This.
They also should be readily available. Nom, in my expirience, American ref's don't work out that well. Considering even the matches played by the American teams are usually at odd times, you don't get that much chance to do anything, and then everyone gets mad at you for not reffing (notice how they took my name off the ref's list in the ENPL)

Also, fairest is the correct word. It's the superlative form of "fair". Saying "Most Fair" would technically be wrong.

Hey i just wanted to know how will we find the server then?
Can't wait!

When the match program will be posted, we will each choose the games we will ref and then each of us will contact the teams regarding the server and match details.
